XFilter is designed to be integrated into any domestic washing machine during its manufacture, to help trap the microfibres that our clothes release. Independent tests show it is the highest performing filtration device available, capturing over 99% of microplastics and over 80% of cellulosic microfibres. To achieve the lowest LCA impact, minimising its impact on the planet, XFilter is designed to last the lifetime of a washing machine with no replacement cartridges. It works in the detergent drawer and can be easily removed to empty the trapped fibres into household waste, making it as simple as emptying the lint from your tumble dryer.

The industrial solution of our filtration technology has the same effective capture rates as our domestic filter, XF¹, but is designed to be compatible at a commercial scale. Either by integrating XFilter directly into a commercial washing machine, or as a stand-alone unit that can be attached to a series of machines, or a whole laundry. The system is designed with a self-cleaning mechanism to last 60 wash cycles before it needs to be emptied. It only takes a minute to dispose of the fibres from the collection tray which is then put back into the XFilter to continue to collect further fibre fragments. We are working in partnership with Girbau to bring our commercial XFilter to the laundry market.

Our XC technology can be integrated and scaled to enhance front-loading washing machines through the combination of our patented XDrum and XOrb technology. The closed system releases XOrbs into specially designed wash programmes to reduce the environmental impact of caring for our clothes. Using XOrbs allows for a significant reduction of water, chemistry and energy, with the benefit of a gentler mechanical action to improve wash performance and better care for fabrics allowing them to last longer. At the end of the cycle, the XDrum collects the XOrbs back into their storage system. Our team supports wash cycle development and the technical transfer process to enable our technology to work seamlessly with your products.

XFN is a new textiles technology that uses reusable polymer spheres, which we call XOrbs, to wash and finish textiles. By replacing water and pumice, and reducing chemistry, energy and time, our technology lowers the impact of denim manufacturing on the planet. XFN¹ is already in use at manufacturers in Bangladesh and Turkey. Machines fitted with our patented XDrum and XOrb innovation allow the closed system to release XOrbs into specially designed garment finishing cycles. At the end of the cycle, the XDrum collects the XOrbs back into their storage system to be used again and again. The abrasive action of the XOrbs replaces the need for pumice leaving garments with a softer feel, with less back staining and shorter cycle times.
