YMC - Versatile Hybrid Silica UHPLC - HPLC Columns

YMC-Triart is a versatile material prepared using tightly controlled particle formation technology which has been adapted from micro-reactor technology. This recently developed production process developed by YMC results in exceptionally narrow particle and pore size distributions. With YMC-Triart reversed phase columns, challenging pH and high temperature conditions are no longer a limitation to the day-to-day work in laboratories. Most importantly, due to its unique particle composition, a balanced hydrophobicity and silanol activity are achieved which makes YMC-Triart a “First Choice” column in method development.

YMC ProFamily reversed phase columns are based on a silica with an extremely low metal content. Low metal content suppresses polar interactions, as metal impurities cause silanol groups to become more acidic. This provides YMC ProFamily excellent resolution for a wide range of compounds, especially basic pharmaceuticals. To minimise the unwanted interactions between residual silanols and the sample molecules that are responsible for asymmetric peaks, YMC utilises a proprietary, highly effective endcapping process. Important for every chromatographer: YMC ensures that the physical properties e.g. particle size, pore size, metal content are extremely reproducible from Lot-to-Lot.

YMC - Stationary Phases

To overcome the limitations of traditional silica-based stationary phases regarding the chemical stability, hybrid silica-based phases have been developed. Hybrid silica contains organic groups within the silicon dioxide network, making it more resistant to a wider pH range. The innovative preparative stationary phase YMC-Triart Prep combines mechanical strength and pH stability. It is stable up to pH 10 which allows more flexibility for process development. Moreover, efficient cleaning-in-place (CIP) procedures can be applied! From real-life process development examples, YMC-Triart Prep has been shown to outperform traditional silica-based materials in terms of stability up to 4-fold. Longer column lifetimes lead to greater amounts of product being produced per kilogram of stationary phase. The results mean improved production procedures and reduced overall costs.
