A video abstract is a multi-media, author-created summary of the research article. It serves to further highlight the research and improve understanding. The video abstract provides a “teaser” for a paper and is intended to guide the audience into the work, emphasizing the most im-portant result. The presentations are meant to be be understandable and, importantly, accessible to viewers outside of the immediate field of study. She also maintains a very active graduate program. Her current research focus is on the genetic basis of evolutionary change, especially in salmonid fish.Dr. Ferguson is no stranger to the NRC Research Press family; she was Senior Editor of the Canadian Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, one of the world’s top fisheries journals, from 2002 through 2007.
