2014 Call For Abstracts Now Open- Brochure

For the Air & Waste Managment Association’s 107th Annual Conference & ExhibitonThe Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) is proud to announce that the 107th Annual Conference & Exhibition will be held June 24-27, 2014 at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California. The theme for this year’s conference is Navigating Environmental Crossroads to bring together responsible environmental stewardship amid a growing economic future. The term “navigating” also re?ects the seaside conference location and the major seaport there. The draft title for the conference’s Critical Review is Carbonaceous Black Carbon/Elemental Carbon (BC/EC) PM2.5 Emissions – Monitoring, Epidemiological and Toxicological studies for assessing health e?ects. We are pleased to invite abstracts of original work on important and timely environmental issues re?ecting the nexus of economic, social, scienti?c and political pressures shaping and informing environmental policy and decision-making. Why You Should PresentThe conference is typically comprised of more than 400 platform and poster presentations and 40 panel sessions. With up to 50 technical sessions per day and as many as 12 concurrent sessions, it is recognized as the premier international conference of its kind providing the latest information on air and waste issues. This is your opportunity to share your work at a technical conference, enhance the knowledge base of the industry, and interact with an engaged audience of your peers, including: industry practitioners, consultants, regulators, students and researchers. Original work documenting industrial operational issues and solutions are especially desired, particularly in the area of transportation and maritime/shipping industry environmental interactions and the Conference theme. Papers on environmental interactions such as the relationship between climate change and air quality, regulatory reforms needed to keep pace with new research and technology developments or other topics are welcome. Additional areas and categories of interest are outlined at the end of the Call for Abstracts.Invitation to Long BeachLong Beach is home to the second busiest seaport in the United States and together with the Port of Los Angeles, ranks as the 8th busiest container volume seaport in the world.
