Abatement Plastic Brochure

AbatementPlasticTM Abatement Plastic™ makes the process of setting up andremoving containments for abatement of asbestos, mold, lead, orany other undesirable substance, signi?cantly faster and easier.Because the ?lm adheres to the surfaces, much less force is needed to hold the plastic inplace, reducing or eliminating the amount of damage normally expected when usingtraditional means of building containments. On average, customers have claimedinstallations at least 10 times faster than using traditional tapes in place plastics. This resultsin a huge labor savings, and the ability to do more jobs with the same number of employees.Ultimately the time and money saving opportunities o?ered byAbatement Plastic ™ adds up to a wise choice for a wide varietyof applications.1331 Specialty Drive, Vista, CA 92081Toll Free: 866-597-9298 760-597-9298Fax: 760-597-9574 Email: sales@globalplasticsheeting.comwww.globalplasticsheeting.comPlease Note: Global Plastic Sheeting provides our customers with ourexact shipping costs, including our signi?cant discounts, with nohandling fees, or other fees of any kind. No SurprisesGlobal Plastic Sheeting recommendstesting this product on all surfaces todetermine its suitability of use.Q: Installing the containment, 10times faster, from the ground, soundstoo good to be true, you know whatthey say about that?A: The Wall Applicator allows this ?lmto be installed over all vertical surfacesas fast as a person can walk, same withthe ?oor applicator. No more taping asmall area, then moving the ladder, climbing back up and so on. Criticalsare quickly covered with the ?lm also.Q: I have heard of a similar productleaving the printing on varioussurfaces, will your product do thesame?A: Part of the reason we o?er the ?lmwithout printing as standard is that webelieve printing is not needed for thisapplication. Printing can be a weak linkin the product, especially if the ?lm isaged. These types of products arereverse printed, so the printing goes onthe bottom surface of the ?lm, beforethe adhesive system is applied. If theprinting is not well anchored to the ?lm,the strength of the adhesive on thecovered surface can cause the printingand adhesive under it to transfer to thesurface. When our customers wantprinting, we have strategies to make thistransfer unlikely.Q: What is the shelf life of thisproduct?A: The o?cial shelf-life according tothe product engineers at the plant is 6months after date of purchase.Q: When installing this ?lm, howmuch pressure should be used.A: This really depends on the surfacesbeing covered, and the condition of thesurfaces. No more pressure should beapplied than is necessary to have the?lm remain in place for the duration ofthe job. It takes a little practice to?gure this out on various surfaces. For example, when covering roughbrick, more pressure is needed, and often a squeegee will be used behind theapplicator to assure a good bond. Onewould not need to do this for a smoothpainted surface, like walls or lockers, where almost no pressure is needed. The adhesives are pressure sensitive,so the more pressure, the strongerthe bond. The AbatementPlastic™ shown on the?oor and walls is theFire Retardant version, and ?lm shown on thecriticals is the Standardversion. Please note that the ?lm waspurposely installed witha lot of wrinkles to givesome contrast for photopurposes. When it isinstalled as perfectly aspossible, it is almostimpossible to see.
