EMTEC DAC 40 and DAC 33 Acoustic Doors are suppliedcomplete with their own mounting frames and fixings forfitting into prepared structural openings. Single and doubleleaf doors are available with the main door leaf opening eitherto the right or left as required.Typical applications of the EMTEC DAC range of acousticdoors are to permit access into such areas as Turbine orDiesel Engine Test Cells, Generator Plantrooms, Ventilation orAir Conditioning Plantrooms, Plenum Chambers, IndustrialProcess Control Rooms, Quiet Havens, Audiometric Facilitiesand Recording Studios.Almost any size of EMTEC Acoustic Door can be manufacturedto meet customers individual requirements and stable doorarrangements with small personnel access doors within largermachine entrance doors can be designed. It is recommendedthat for your particular application you consult an EMTECengineer who will be pleased to assist you in the detailedlayout of an Emtec DAC door to meet your exact physicalrequirements.ConstructionThe EMTEC DAC range of Acoustic Doors are manufacturedfrom high quality galvanised steel sheets spot welded togetherto form a sandwich construction of considerable strength.Held between the two skins of the door is an inert, non-flammable, acoustic media which effectively absorbs primaryand secondary acoustic energy incident on the doors innersurface and provides acoustic damping of the inner and outerskins of the door. The structural integrity of the door and themounting frame is essential to ensure efficient compression ofthe peripheral edge seals. The mounting frames providedwith each door are of all welded construction and furnishedcomplete with anchor fixings or bolts to allow for mountinginto existing structural openings (see details of alternativeframes on the reverse side of this data sheet). Each EMTEC DAC Acoustic Door is furnished with heavy dutyhinges, a positive pressure external latch and a quick releasemechanism allowing personnel to exit from the enclosedspace even when the door has been locked shut.Inspection windows can be provided if necessary and EMTECDAC Acoustic Doors are normally supplied with a polyesterpowder coat finish to any standard, non-metallic, BS4800 orRAL colour. Typical SpecificationThe double and single leaf access doors into the Engine TestArea shall be EMTEC Type DAC Acoustic Doors having anaverage sound reduction index of 39dB across the audiblefrequency spectrum. The doors shall be supplied with a flushbottom cill in order to allow access into the test area by forklift trucks. An angle frame with anchor fixings shall beprovided to allow fitting into the prepared structuralopenings. The doors and framework shall be carefully locatedinto the structure ensuring that the complete assembly isplumb and square prior to final grouting into position. Eachdoor leaf shall be provided with an inspection window andthe complete assembly shall be polyester powder coated tocolour RAL 7019.UsageEMTEC DAC 40 and DAC 33 Acoustic Doors are doubleskinned metal doors specifically designed to provideoptimum noise reduction combined with ease of operation. The DAC 40 Acoustic Door has a nominal thickness of100mm, is fitted with twin peripheral edge seals, and gives anaverage noise reduction of 39dB across the audible frequencyspectrum. The DAC 33 Acoustic Door has a nominal thicknessof 50mm, is fitted with a single peripheral edge seal, and givesan average noise reduction of 33dB.Acoustic Doors type DAC 40 & DAC 33NOISE CONTROLProduct Data Sheet No. 109/03Outside of EMTEC DAC33 Single Leaf Acoustic Door.EMTEC PAC40 Double and Single Leaf Acoustic Doors.ACOUSTIC_LEAFLETS_ACOUSTIC_LEAFLETS.qxd 06/02/2012 16:56 Page 1EMTEC DAC 40 and DAC 33 Acoustic Doors are suppliedcomplete with their own mounting frames and fixings forfitting into prepared structural openings.
