Acoustic Panel Systems PAC 40 & PAC 30NOISE CONTROLProduct Data Sheet No. 110/03EMTEC PAC 40 and PAC 30 Acoustic Panels have a plainexterior surface and a perforated inner surface with anacoustically absorbent media being contained between thetwo skins. The external surface of the panel is acousticallydamped to eliminate local resonances and the innerperforated surface allows exposure of the acousticallyabsorbent media to the noise source in order to reducereverberation within the area around the enclosed machinery. EMTEC PAC 40 and PAC 30 Acoustic Panels can be used asbarriers between quiet and noisy areas or in the form ofhousings around noisy plant. The panels are suppliedcomplete with floor, roof and intermediate vertical joiners toallow fast and simple site erection. As part of an individualenclosure design, ventilation systems, complete with suitablesilencers, can be provided in order to dissipate the heatemissions from the enclosed machinery. Access doors,inspection windows and acoustically sealed openings for thepassage of piping, cables etc. can also be provided with noreduction in the acoustic performance of the final design.Typical applications of EMTEC PAC 40 and PAC 30 AcousticPanels are the enclosure of Turbo-compressors, Diesel-drivenGenerators, Pumps, Fans and Presses. Audiometric Rooms andQuiet Booths for personnel within noisy factory environmentscan also be constructed from EMTEC Acoustic Panels. In order to discuss your particular requirements it is advisableto consult an EMTEC engineer who will be pleased to help inthe formulation of a detailed design layout to meet yourparticular acoustic requirements.ConstructionEMTEC PAC 40 and PAC 30 Acoustic Panels are formed from aplain galvanised steel outer sheet and a perforated galvanisedsteel inner sheet. The panels are suitably stiffened to preventdeformation during site erection. The acoustic mediacontained in the panels is inert, non-flammable mineral woolwith a tissue facing behind the perforated inner face to ensurethat no particle migration can occur. The standard depth ofEMTEC PAC 40 Acoustic Panels is 100mm and of EMTEC PAC30 Acoustic Panels is 50mm. EMTEC PAC 40 and PAC 30 Acoustic Panels can be suppliedwith external surfaces finished in aluminium, plastic coatedsteel or panels can be polyester powder coated to anystandard BS4800 or RAL colour.Doors, windows and sealed openings are normally fittedduring site erection and all the necessary fittings and fixingsare supplied with the panels. Double and single leaf doors arefitted with quick release internal safety catches so thatpersonnel can escape from within the enclosure even whenthe access door is inadvertently locked shut. Window panelsare provided with silica gel absorbent elements to eliminatecondensation within the airspace formed by the two windowpanes. Cellular rubber seals are incorporated into floor androof channels as well as around the periphery of doors andwindows. Wall and roof joiners are mastic sealed duringerection to maintain the acoustic integrity of the completeenclosure.Structural steelwork or internal supports for ducting,silencers or other equipment can be incorporated intoindividual enclosure designs and details of all aspects of theacoustic enclosure would be shown on a full set of designdrawings provided by EMTEC to the client for his approvalprior to manufacture.Typical SpecificationThe Diesel-driven Generator Set shall be enclosed in a self-contained EMTEC PAC 40 Acoustic Panel enclosure tomaintain the noise levels laid down in the specification. Theenclosure will be complete with two double-leaf access doors,sealed openings around the electrical cables and exhaustpiping, an inspection window and an adequate ventilationsystem to dissipate the heat emission from the generator set.The enclosure shall be polyester powder coated to BS4800colour 00A05 (grey).UsageEMTEC PAC 40 and PAC 30 Acoustic Panels have beenspecifically designed to meet the increasing requirements toshield personnel from high noise levels emitted from plantand machinery.
