Currently these systems operate largely in isolation of each other, both between different organizations and even within a single organization, and aren’t able to transfer data between them very well or at all.IDS offers an integrated suite of net-centric applications and individual solutions for AIS/AIM which aim to provide aeronautical information users with the correct information at the right time and right place and which are compliant with the System Wide Information Management (SWIM) concept. The SWIM concept is at the center of the FAA’s NextGen program and the European SESAR project and provides improved information sharing both within and between organizations while ensuring that the integrity, quality and security of data is maintained.IDS’s AIS/AIM Solutions provides a fully integrated solution for the acquisition, management and distribution of static and dynamic aeronautical data. It allows ANSPs and other aeronautical data users to import, validate, process, store and export aeronautical data from external providers (ARINC 424, AIXM 5.1, EAD, etc.) or other applications such as IDS’s FPDAM flight procedure design software or EMACS electromagnetic survey suite. Data workflow is tightly controlled and tracked, ensuring compliance with Aeronautical Data Quality (ADQ) requirements, from origination to publication in the form of Aeronautical Information Publications (AIPs) and Aeronautical Charts, or export to external aeronautical data providers/users.• Improve quality, integrity and accuracy of AIS/AIM data through the use of a single repository for all aeronautical data, meaning that data only needs to be analyzed, validated and entered into the database once before it becomes available to all aeronautical database users.• Increase the capacity of airspaces and airports through more efficient handling of aeronautical data.• Improve aviation safety as a result of increased data quality, security and uniformity.• Improve efficiency of both ground and air operations.• Reduce costs through the use of more efficient and automated processes and by reducing the redundant data entry.• Reduce environmental impact by improving operational efficiency. The AIS/AIM Solutions family includes the following products:PLXPLX is a web application designed to support aeronautical information regulators and service providers in implementing and monitoring traceable, controlled and auditable processes in compliance with ICAO Annex 15 requirements for data integrity and the Eurocontrol Controlled and Harmonised Aeronautical Information Network (CHAIN) model.PLX assists AIS data providers in the data workflow process from the authoring and collection of new or changed data, through the storing of data in the AIS database, to the dissemination of new information as data products.Data MaintenanceData Maintenance is a suite of products devoted to the maintenance of the aeronautical database which lies at the heart of IDS’s integrated suite of AIS/AIM applications. It provides a single centralized AIXM 5.1 data source for all types of static aeronautical data, delivering structured data management while maintaining the concept of temporality and supporting the transition from AIS to AIM. The adaptation of GIS for the management and validation of aeronautical data, plus an advanced configurable validation engine, configurable reporting functionalities and the full integration with PLX, are just a few examples of functionalities that make the life of a data handler much easier. As a result, data only needs to be analyzed, validated and entered into the database once before it becomes available to all aeronautical database users.CRONOSCRONOS provides a single high performance and high availability data store for the management of all types of dynamic aeronautical information. It provides functionalities to manage both traditional and digital NOTAM messages, MET data, flight plan (FPL) and pre-flight information bulletins (PIB). Users can interact with the system via a web-GIS environment with a high level of automation while the system architecture allows data to be shared openly with third-party applications and over SWIM infrastructure.BenefitsProductsDigital Data DistributionDigital Data Distribution is a suite of tools which offers AIS administrators fast and safe methods of importing and exporting electronic aeronautical data in various formats such as ASCII, ARINC 424, AIXM (4.3, 4.5, 5.1), DAFIF and AAFIF. It also provides integration with the European AIS Database (EAD) allowing EAD data providers and data users to exchange data in both directions.ICEICE (Integrated Cartographic Environment) provides a template based system to produce and manage ICAO Annex 4 and tailored aeronautical charts in a geographic information system (GIS) environment. It is fully integrated with the PLX workflow management system and maintains a live connection with the Data Maintenance central database and other (geo)graphical data sources while ensuring control over the processes involved in the production and maintenance of aeronautical charts and providing a high level of automation to significantly reduce production time and costs. By default ICE includes a large set of ICAO rules which can be used to generate charts simply by connecting to the aeronautical database.AeropubAeropub is a comprehensive package which meets the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) requirements of the AIS/AIM sections of civil and military aviation authorities. By extracting data directly from the central database it is able to automatically produce printed, PDF or Eurocontrol eAIP versions of ICAO compliant AIPs as well as AIP Amendments, AIP Supplements and Aeronautical Information Circulars (AICs), including checklists and cover letters. By default Aeropub provides a large set of standard rules which can be used for the generation of a regular ICAO AIP.Ubimex Ubimex is a feature packed and reliable ATS message handling system (AMHS) which handles the routing and transfer of aeronautical messages and provides a robust database for short and long term message storage. It offers an integrated web-based environment for ICAO compliant AMHS and AFTN messaging and has proven interoperability with third-party AMHS systems.AIR NAVIGATION DIVISION
