Air emission regulatory requirements arebecoming increasingly stringent for industrialoperations across the country. As a result, clientsare challenged to demonstrate due diligence andbe confident that their emissions are withinregulatory limits. Dillon's extensive sourceemission testing expertise is called upon to meetthis challenge.We apply our comprehensive air emission testing(stack testing) services to address a multitude ofdue diligence issues. We determine if a process isin compliance with current or proposed emissionregulations/operating permit limits, and provideaccurate data for the development of air resourcesmanagement programs. We utilize source emissiondata to facilitate the selection and design ofcontrol equipment, and test the efficiency ofinstalled equipment. We measure the economicimpact of material or product losses from aprocess and assist clients in controlling a processby continuous or frequent observation of one ormore constituents in an emission stream.Dillon has been involved in research andcommercial stack sampling services since 1968. Wehave assisted Canadian regulatory agencies withthe development of stack testing codes andpolicies.We test for a wide range of atmospheric pollutantssuch as particulate, trace metals, organics,CONSULTINGDILLON AIR EMISSIONS TESTINGpolyaromatic hydrocarbons, polychlorinatedbiphenyls, hydrogen chloride, methanol,formaldehyde, and odour emissions. We have alsotested for gaseous contaminants including sulphurdioxide, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, carbondioxide, hydrogen sulphide, and totalhydrocarbons. Standard published samplingmethods are followed where available and site-specific test procedures and/or methods have beendeveloped in several situations. For example, wedeveloped procedures for sampling microbial anddioxin contaminants in hospital incinerator stacks.We have conducted stack sampling at coal-firedutility plants, municipal incinerators, pulp andpaper mills, automotive foundries, spray paintingfacilities, chemical manufacturing plants, and scrapmetal recycling facilities. Numerous compliancesource testing projects have been conducted forthe Ontario Ministry of the Environment,Environment Canada and the United StatesEnvironmental Protection Agency.Over the years, our team of professionals haveenabled clients to achieve compliance anddemonstrate due diligence with evolving airemission regulations and licensing requirements.This provides our clients with the confidenceneeded to operate their businesses successfully.
