Many studies have been carried out around the world showing that the air in containers coming from abroad may contain hazardous concentrations of various gas compounds. Beside recognizing the designated fumigation gases used in cargo-containers the GDA is able to detect non-conforming chemicals or other gases due to evaporation from goods, all of which may cause a health risk.
