Its purpose is to protect hydroelectric powergenerating plants, water intake works, recei-ving basins, wastewater treatment plants,and irrigation and pumping works.The systems include a rack with openingsnormally between 10 and 200 mm, and amechanical part (the rakers)?whose actionmakes it possible to continuously removethe solids held on the rack; these are thenconveyed to special silos or collecting boxesthrough conveyor belts.
