The works building is located in the parking lot. Skiers know it is a treatment works because of the building signage. No noise, odor or health hazards are evident. This facility is secure, totally enclosed and safe. The process consists of a primary RBC with post denitrification, final clarifiers and effluent wet well. The discharge is to a reduced size subsurface absorption component (tile field) that uses a low-pressure shallow-bury trench system. The total effluent nitrogen levels are designed for less than 10 mg/L. The nitrates are liberated as nitrogen gas in the anoxic stage of the RBC. The treatment plant operation is done by on-site-staff and a laboratory does sampling.
