Aqua-Flush - Gates are either self-powered or mechanically unlocked flush cleaning systems. Flush gates are used for cleaning in sewer pipes as well as in storm water tanks. The pipe volume is activated as flush water storage in sewers. In storm water tanks separate reservoirs to store the flush water are utilized. SGS Aqua Technologies GmbH offers Aqua-Flush - Gates with gate bodies in stainless steel of fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP). The material FRP offers the advantage that due to the relatively low weight of the material the flush wave is less influenced by the gate. The gate „rides “the flush wave and develops a relatively low closing moments during flush events. Therefore, the complete emptying of the flush chamber without blockage is ensured. Gates in FRP are much lighter than gates in stainless steel. This makes the handling during installation, especially in covered tanks, much easier.
