Hydrogen peroxide found many applications in various fields such as medicine and food industry who use it for disinfection and sterilization, but also in cosmetic production, paper industry and particularly in water treatment. H₂O₂ is used to eliminate organic pollutants and lessen H₂S effect. However, it’s also involved in corrosion phenomenon and creation of oxidizing species, highly aggressive for the organism. Dissolved H₂O₂ concentration’s control is an important parameter to adapt water treatment, especially for H₂S oxidation on one hand and in the other hand, for sewage networks and intervention staffs’ protection.
