Dissolved oxygen in water is a fundamental parameter for the aquatic fauna and flora and the associated organic activity. Indeed, the dissolved O₂ level found in lake, river and oceans governs the local environment’s composition. On the other hand, dissolved O₂ is also important to optimize biological activity in waste water treatment. Dissolved O₂ monitoring allows then both to obtain sufficient quantity for the aquatic wildlife and in natural resources, but also avoid excessive aeration in waste waters.
