For that purpose bags with a ziplock© system are suitable (see picture below). Each sample has to be labelled with a reference corresponding to the one wriAen on the order form or to the informa8ons introduced on our web portal. How do I have to sample ?Sampling of poten8al asbestos--bearing materials has to be done minimizing dust forma8on. It is therefore recommended to work under wet condi8ons by spraying soapy water on the materials to be collected. As sampling is done under wet condi8ons, electrical tools should not be used simultaneously (saws, rames, etc.).If possible, collect samples that are already detached or broken. It is usually riskier to sample in an unappropriate way than to leave the materials as it is.It is highly recommended to contact professionals to collect samples where asbestos is strongly bonded.Which quan8ty do I have to sample ?The minimum quan8ty to sample depends on the materials. For heterogeneous materials (false ceilings, 8le adhesives, etc.), a sample of 3 cm x 3 cm is usually su?cient. For manufactured materials (?oor linings, sealants, etc.), samples can be smaller. However they should measure at least 2 cm x 2 cm to be representa8ve.How can I avoid contamina8ons ?A contamina8on is the uninten8onal transfer of an asbestos ?bre from one sample to another one. This can lead to false--posi8ve results in the laboratory, thus genera8ng supplementary costs to remove the materials on the construc8on site. To avoid it, it is mandatory to clean the sampling tools between each sample. A par8cular care has to be taken with cuAers because ?bers can enter those tools, thus contamina8ng the next samples. It is crucial to clean the cuAers before and aOer use.Sampling guide for poten8al asbestos--bearing samples
