When required, the sump bowl is made of toughened glass for observation of the liqu id flow through the filter. They are cleaned without in terrupting the flow of liquid by one complete turn of the handle attached to the element spindle.This action deposits all the solids accumulated around the element into the filter sump. The filter sump is held firmly in position by a hand screw attached to a quick-release stirrup. Tapped holes for mounting screws are provided on opposite sides of the cover to facilitate installation.
