Axis Online Ethylene Oxide Scrubbers Brochure

AXIS ONLINE ETHYLENE OXIDE SCRUBBER TECHNOLOGY ? Four Stages ? High Efficiency ? Easy Installation and Replacement ? Eliminates risk of leakage thanks to it’s simple design and connections ? Extra space, pipe and extractor fan free ? Automatically filter change time warning available by digital sensing when the pressure is dropped The Axis Online Ethylene Oxide Scrubbers has been designed to work with all models of Axis AX series sterilizers. It use online installation technology of exhaust line of sterilizer and provide simply connections usage without tools. The scrubber body and hoses; made of stainless steel and consist of four units MICROCARB special activated carbon filter cartridge which remove more than 99,9% of the Ethylene Oxide. Through Axis AX series sterilizers which are built-in with extractor fan, external extractor fan and power requirement has been eliminated. Instead of tracking gas usage by old counter method for the determination of filter change time, through digital pressure measuring and monitoring system in Axis AX series sterilizers, when it is time to change the filter, device gives you a warning in order you to change the filter with the new one. Usage of the different grams of cartridges in cabinet should be considered. Process The aim of this study is to define the effect of an Ethylene Oxide (EO) scrubber when it is used together with an AX EO Gas Sterilizer Series. The Axis Ethylene Oxide Scrubbers has been designed to work with all models of AX series sterilizers with its unique design. The scrubber was connected to the exit hole of the sterilizer and ejected outside of the building through scrubber. The air flows of the scrubber exemplify by Drager 6728961 and 6728241 Ethylene Oxide detection tubes before and after the by taking samples. Before scrubber samples were analyzed against more than 60 ppm and under than after scrubber result was 1ppm. Around 10 minutes were required between samples for analyses and re-standardization which alternately taken before and after from the scrubber. During the first three hour of the sterilization cycle samples were taken in the 15th minute after placing a load into the sterilizer and activating the EO Gas cartridges. Bags number 1 containing dummy loads consisting of cautery pen, nasal oxygen cannula, drapes, surgical wrap, and plastic feeding tube were used to simulate a typical sterilization load. Control samples were analyzed at time 0 to confirm that no EO was present in the sterilizer system. Conclusion During the first hour of sterilization the concentration of EO in the air flow before the scrubber (i.e. untreated exhaust) rose to a peak of about 60 ppm. Afterwards at the end of the three hours it has decreased about 20 ppm. After the scrubber there isn’t any EO measured in the air flow. It is proven that more than 99%EO removed from the AX Series EO Gas Sterilizer air flow by the scrubber. Disposable Scrubber The whole scrubber Microcarb filters can be disposed of with ordinary waste if local regulations permit along pollution degree 2 in accordance with EC 664.
