AXONE 4The AXONE 4 is the very best there is in terms of performance, technology and manufacturing quality. In designing the AXONE 4, TEXA chose to offer the technician the perfect diagnostic tool, able to combine the power and facilities of the best PCs around, with the hardwearing practicality of the workshop tool; all encased in an exciting modern design. Using a simple PC to carry out tests on vehicles is a valid solution, but one which certainly comes with a few contraindications, particularly with regards to the suitability of such a delicate device in a challenging workshop environment. The risk of impacts or accidental drops is in fact, rather high and it is all too easy for the PC to come into contact with dirt and liquids. A computer also needs to be moved with the care and attention that a technician cannot always ensure during a busy day’s work.The AXONE4, on the other hand, has been specifically and exclusively designed for the workshop.It is hardwearing and is water-resistant according to the IP65 standard: the internal components have been developed to withstand knocks and impacts and the unit is sealed against dirt and moisture. Thanks to the latest generation processor and a heat sink integrated into the inner shell, the AXONE 4 requires no cooling fans and is fitted with powerful waterproofed lithium batteries, arranged into two packs of triple cylindrical cells. The “Marine” version has an extra feature that allows the AXONE 4 to achieve the severe IP67 standard, namely protection against the effect of temporary immersion in water of up to a meter. A patented solution also means that the AXONE 4 will float if dropped in liquid. These characteristics all come together to guarantee a robust, reliable product, making the AXONE 4 ideally suited to outdoor use too, in difficult conditions such as a roadside repair in the rain or snow.AXONE 4: CLASS LEADING PERFORMANCE“SOLVED PROBLEMS” FUNCTION POWERED BY GOOGLE Internet-connection by the means of a built-in Wi-Fi and an access point, the AXONE 4 can query the TEXA databases to find repair procedures that have already been tried and tested. Once the vehicle being worked on has been selected, the technician can send a request directly by keying a description of the problem into a free text field and clicking on a button on the screen. After just a few seconds any relevant information related to their request is displayed on screen. The TEXA servers feature countless solutions to all sorts of problems encountered by call centres all over the world. They are enhanced with additional new solutions added every week.TGS2 FUNCTION The TGS2 (TEXA Global Scan 2)* allows for the automatic scan of all electronic control units that can be diagnosed. All systems can be scanned, or just a specific group, the software will automatically identify the correct control unit and show if any errors are present. In this case, by clicking on the system in question, you can enter directly to the ECU self-diagnosis, with no need to re-start the specific application. * Only available in connection with the Navigator nano, NAVIGATOR TXT and NAVIGATOR TXC.The AXONE 4 is therefore a highly evolved tool that combines the very best in consumer technologies with specific TEXA applications for the multi-brand workshop. The real heart of the AXONE 4 is in fact the IDC4 software, the universal, multi-environment diagnosis system with the most extensive coverage of makes and models available on the market.The IDC4 software is developed entirely by TEXA and is based on the Windows operating environment, is intuitive and user-friendly. In addition to diagnosis resources, a series of additional data is also available for each vehicle selected, making the IDC4 truly unique. This is, in fact, the innovation that has revolutionised the very concept of the diagnosis tool: as soon as the make, model and engine type has been selected; the unit display immediately shows additional information available. Technical sheets are available on the most important, recurring faults, wiring diagrams and component sheets, complete with explanatory videos and images to guarantee ease of use. An innovative application makes it possible to carry out more frequent interventions and scheduled maintenance immediately, by selecting the individual operations from a specific list. Thanks to the built-in Wi-Fi module, the AXONE 4 enjoys a wireless connection to the workshop internet service. In addition to the Wi-Fi module, the version can be requested with the GPS-HSDPA telephone module, which works via a SIM card, allowing connection to the network of the provider for data exchange. However, the AXONE 4 also has an additional, unique possibility, in that it can access the internet when outside the workshop using a connection to a Smartphone (if compatible) as a HOTSPOT.THE BEST RESOLUTION IN ALL CONDITIONSThe AXONE 4 has the typical design of the modern touch screen tablet PCs: the large, impressive 9.7” TFT touch window screen boasts a 1024x768 resolution guarantees excellent visibility in all conditions. Like the most modern consumer products, the AXONE 4 has been fitted with a function that allows for the displayed image to rotate to a vertical or horizontal position which will adapt to all operating situations.All the functions are accessed via the touchscreen display, or by using tools multifunction key. The only additional button is the power on/off.A HEART AS “SOLID” AS A ROCKThe AXONE 4 is entirely comparable with a top-of-the-range industrial PC, and is equipped with a powerful Intel Atom processor, with 1 Gb of RAM to ensure speed and power at the highest level. A decidedly “non-standard” component then completes the AXONE 4 features: a 32 GB solid state (no moving parts) hard drive, guaranteeing a reliable product that consumes less power and requires less cooling. AN IMAGE SAYS MORE THAN A THOUSAND WORDSAmongst its standard features, the AXONE 4 also includes a VGA camera with CMOS sensor for a clearer image.This is an accessory that can prove to be extremely useful for the technician. It can, for example, be used when ordering spare parts, attaching the picture of the part to be replaced for greater clarity. The camera can also be used to document the procedure of dismantling a particular system, which can then be saved and viewed at a later stage.A DEVICE WITH INIMITABLE CHARACTERISTICSALWAYS CONNECTED, EVEN BY SMARTPHONEThe AXONE 4 flaunts a revolutionary, exclusive function that enables access the internet when outside the workshop. By using a standard Smartphone (check the list of compatible telephones on www.texa.com/smartphone) as a HOTSPOT, it can be connected in any situation, outside the workshop.INFINITE POTENTIAL WITH DUAL CONTROLThanks to Bluetooth technology, the AXONE 4 features wireless connection to all TEXA tools for diagnosis and emissions analysis. For self-diagnosis tests, the Navigator nano has been specifically developed. This is an innovative miniaturised interface that communicates with all TEXA display units, but cannot be connected to a normal commercial PC. The DUAL CONTROL function will also allow the AXONE 4 to communicate simultaneously with two different interfaces: for example, self-diagnosis can be performed on a component whilst the signal is studied with an oscilloscope.THE TEXA EXPERT AT YOUR SIDE, WITH A SIMPLE “TOUCH”The telephone and internet connection allows for the use of the AXONE 4 in “REMOTE ASSISTANCE” mode**. This is thanks to the optional AUDIO KIT, and enables TEXA staff to assist remotely, and control the tool if the technician has the specific call-centre support service. This is no longer merely a telephone conversation, but a real remote assistance service. With the option of real time operation of the application by the TEXA operator, to solve certain problems or carry out specific procedures directly on the tool. This increases its practicality of use and decreases the space taken up within the vehicle, allowing the Navigator nano to be housed directly in the OBD socket, without needing to be rested on the seat or dashboard, or with inconvenient wires inside the vehicle.Wireless is our philosophyThe Navigator nano self-powers from the diagnosis socket and requires no cables connecting to the vehicle battery.
