Shavings are fed to the machine by means of the Feed Hopper provided.  This is normally extended by several metres when installed to give a reasonably large storage area above. This will cope with local surges and smooth out the feed rate to the Baler. Each bale is made by one stroke of the compression ram, which is activated by an Infrared sensing device in the Hopper. When this ram has reached the fully forward position (bale fully compressed) an illuminated push button shows a signal in the remote panel at the operator’s station.  Having first ensured that a Polythene bag has been fitted to the ejection spout, the operator pushes the illuminated button and the bale is automatically ejected into the bag by the ejection ram.
