The efficient and reliable treatment of landfill leachate is still one  of the biggest challenges in environmental engineering.

The main problems of this site were Ammonia levels constantly
above 2,000 mg/l as well as similarly high COD levels. In order to
meet increased flow demands and adhere to concentration limits,
the operator decided to implement an MBR into the process.
