RETENTION BARRIERS – WATER BARRIERS© 14 © Blobel Umwelttechnik GmbH – Blobel Environmental Engineering 1.2 Retention barrier type BL/BST-EX Article root number: 012 Barrier Drawing – slide-insert – for extreme conditions Based on standard barrier BL/BST multi-functional Dimensions: Standard height 50 to 200 mm Standard length up to 6000 mm Special situations upon request Width 50 mm 1.2.1 Description Suitable for crack-free surfaces with up to 20 mm (± 10 mm) of floor/ground unevenness, e.g. concrete, corrugated sheet metal, tiles, stones, asphalt, etc. Special feature: Sealing of railroad tracks. The Retention Barrier is comprised of a trapezoidal, integral hollow aluminium profiled body. A compressible, highly adaptable special seal is affixed to the lower side and end faces. The Retention Barrier is securely mounted in two mounting fixtures to the left and to the right of the opening to be secured and tightly sealed against the building or structure. Installation within the doorjamb is possible. A light vertical tensioning device is bolted on each of the mounting fixtures with which the necessary force can be applied to press the body of the barrier into place against the mounts and the floor/ground, fix it into place and compress the floor/ground seal. A leak-proof closure is ensured in this manner. The contact pressure is adjustable. Wall mounts are included in the product package to provide for orderly storage. Barrier bodies and mounting fixtures are furnished with a red paint finish, preferably “traffic red” RAL 3020.
