BREEZE ExDAM contains the High Explosive Damage Assessment Model (HEXDAM) and Vapor Cloud Explosion Damage Assessment Model (VEXDAM). Shielding Effects• BREEZE ExDAM’s unique ‘shielding algorithm’ computes the propagation of blast waves passing around and through ‘block’ structures. • This numerical process is computationally faster and easier to setup than CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) methods.Damage to Structures• BREEZE ExDAM computes the peak incident overpressure, dynamic pressure, and impulse (corrected for pulse duration effects and shielding) at each structure block. • The percent damage (and corresponding damage levels of Slight, Moderate, and Severe) are then computed using each block’s ‘material’ vulnerability parameters.• Computed damage is displayed using color-coded 3D images and user-organized damage tables.Injury to People• Place people (Man, Woman, or Child in a variety of poses) in and around structures.• BREEZE ExDAM computes the incident overpressure, dynamic pressure, and impulse (corrected for pulse duration effects and shielding) at each of 28 body blocks. • The percent injury (and corresponding injury levels of Slight, Moderate, and Severe) are then computed using each body block’s vulnerability parameters.• Computed injury is displayed using color-coded 3D images and user-organized injury tables.Library Objects• The structures and people defined in any BREEZE ExDAM project can be imported as a library object into other ExDAM projects, recursively (i.e. C imports B which imports A).• Each structure (e.g. building) in a multi-structure scenario can be developed in a separate project and then imported as a library object into a ‘master’ project.• Repetitive structures such as furnishings, cars, appliances, and industrial equipment are typically imported as library objects.User InterfaceBREEZE ExDAM’s block structures are fast and easy to create using ExDAM’s state-of-the-art 3D Graphical User Interface.Structures & Materials• BREEZE ExDAM structure blocks are each assigned a standard or custom ‘material’ defining their blast ‘vulnerability’. • These material/vulnerability parameters directly correlate incident pressures to damage/injury percentages and thresholds (e.g. None, Slight, Moderate, Severe). • Material options range from whole building construction types (e.g. multi-story office building) to structural component types (e.g. reinforces concrete slab).Shielding and Material Damage/Injury• BREEZE ExDAM’s shielding algorithm utilizes material vulnerability parameters and an algorithm using finite line doublets from potential theory to compute blast wave propagation through structure blocks (e.g. blast waves pass through windows into structures).• BREEZE ExDAM’s damage/injury computations are a function of explosion pulse duration effects, material vulnerability parameters, and shielding-adjusted incident pressures (both overpressure and dynamic pressure).Graphical/Tabular ResultsBREEZE ExDAM provides extensive graphical and tabular results options to facilitate both analysis and documentation. • Structure/People per-block incident pressure/impulse and damage/injury values are color-coded in the 3D display and listed in user-organized tables.• Spatial pressure/impulse distributions can be displayed using sample grid contour planes, iso-surfaces, and volume rendering.• Extensive animation and video capture options produce full-3D results documentation.Summary: Rapid Scenario damage and personnel injury.• Efficient, easy to use, high performance 3D User Interface.• Import 2D images and 3D surfaces for rapid structure/scenario development.• Import projects structures (i.e. ‘library objects’) into other projects recursively (e.g. facility imports buildings which import furniture).• Pressure/Impulse vulnerability data for conventional structures and people.• Model run results files (containing project backup file and all results files) opened independently of their source projects.• Iterative scenarios can be executed using a model runs queue.• Extensive graphical and tabular results display and documentation options.BREEZE ExDAM’s Benefits Include:• Fast scenario development, model runs, results analysis, and documentation.• Easy to learn, train, deploy, and maintain.• Accurate results validated with over 20 years of industry-wide use.BREEZE ExDAMExplosion Damage/Injury Assessment ModelsBREEZE Software / Trinity
