1967

the couple Marianne Egle – formerly Burgmer – and Dipl.-Ing. Günter Burgmer starts its own business in the field of final manufacturing of butterfly valves in Solingen, Klauberger Straße, and elaborates already in the early stages the vision to develop and manufacture its own high-end butterfly valves under an own brand.

1976
the vision is turned reality with the foundation of BURGMER Apparatebau GmbH.

1988

an ever-increasing volume of orders and the achievement of a leading market position as manufacturer of original equipment for tank and silo trailers require the relocation to a bigger manufacturing facility in Wuppertal-Cronenberg.

1994

the company is presented with the opportunity to absorb Ewald KRAFT Apparatebau- und Vertriebs GmbH, a longstanding competitor of BURGMER GmbH, and continue thereby its course of expansion. Both companies are run henceforth under a central management, albeit independently, in their historically evolved core competencies.

1996

both companies are brought together in common facilities in the current site in Wuppertal-Vohwinkel. BURGMER GmbH extends its leading market position all over Europe and exports its products on a global scale.

2016

their son, Dipl.-Betriebsw. Torsten Burgmer, assumes the sole management of KRAFT GmbH.

2017

the company celebrates its 50th anniversary in Wuppertal, looking back with pride at half a century of quality “Made in Germany”.
Also in 2017, general manager Marianne Egle retires after 50 successful years from the operative business and hands over management to son Dipl.-Betriebsw. Torsten Burgmer. Dipl.-Ing. Günter Burgmer remains active in the management of BURGMER Apparatebau GmbH in Wuppertal-Vohwinkel.

2018

BURGMER GmbH presents itself in a “new” look with the new internet portal 2018 …

2021

our managing director and co-founder of the company, Mr. GÜNTER WILHELM BURGMER, died at the age of 89!
