CALIBRATION SERVICES FOR THE FOOD INDUSTRY GlobeTech Laborator i es Ltd aim is to substantially support the state's effort in developing the activity of Metrology in Cyprus whereas at the same time to offer its clients high quality services and complete solutions to their calibration and testing problems. It is our target to offer professional services that will result to the upgrading of the quality and eventually competitiveness of our customers in Cyprus and the global market. With Cyprus soon becoming a member of the EU, it is mandatory for the food industry to conform to European and/or international standards. It has therefore become essential for the food industry to implement the HACCP quality standards (and ISO 9000 series) in order to ensure immediate acceptability in the European and global market environments. QUALITY SYSTEMS The key requirement of implementing and maintaining quality and safety systems is the calibration of the instruments and equipment at regular intervals. An indication of equipment that require calibration are: - Refrigerators and Freezers and Ovens (kitchens, storage, displays, etc.) - Thermometers (Chef’s, buffet, maintenance etc.) - Balances, Dish Washers, Hot water Systems, Multimeters, pH meters etc. RELIABLE CALIBRATION SERVICES With the food industry having to place greater emphasis on quality, confidence in measurement is paramount. The experience of the highly qualified professional staff, along with a state-of-the-art Laboratory enables GlobeTech Laboratories to meet customer’s requirements and conforming to the most exacting standards. ACCREDITATION & QUALITY POLICY GlobeTech Laboratories is the first Calibration laboratory in Cyprus that is Accredited* to ISO/IEC 17025 by RvA with accreditation certificate No K131. GlobeTech policy in accordance with its Quality Manual is “To continuously improve and upgrade the organisation, its procedures and the professionalism of all the company's personnel so that the services provided are of the highest quality standard offered at the lowest possible cost”. The fully environmentally controlled Laboratory, which is supported by mobile units, is equipped with primary standards of high accuracy and operates in accordance with the international specifications set out by the guidelines of ISO 17025 and ISO 9001. TRACEABILITY OF MEASUREMENTS The food indusytry must demonstrate traceability of their measurements in order to conform to ISO 9001 and HACCP systems.
