If you have created a product or service that will improve energy efficiency or will add to the renewable energy industry you should join The Carbon Economy Summit, November 17 - 18th in Washington DC. The Carbon Economy Summit is a meeting for entrepreneurs, investors, executives, and visionaries who what to learn about the new technologies that will transform the climate change discussion. The Economist is holding a competition for innovative solutions in the energy sector and 10 finalists will be invited to share their brilliance at the Carbon Economy Summit on November 18th. Each finalist will deliver a 7-minutes pitch, followed by 3 minutes of Q&A with an audience of 150 senior representatives from business, government, international organizations, and academia. These executives will vote during the event for their favourite innovation. In addition to exposure to the rare audience at the The Summit, each finalist’s presentation will be filmed and will be posted on http://carboneconomy.economist.com. The winning presenter will receive exclusive bragging rights and a free subscription to The Economist in the format of his or her choosing.Rules• Submissions should be sent to carboneconomydemos@economist.com• Format: YouTube video format only• Length: A short introductory paragraph max 250 words, plus a video clip which doesnot exceed 7 minutes in length• The deadline for all submissions is October 15th, 2009• The winner will be announced on November 18th at 5 pm, based on audience vote• This is a global competition which is open to all individuals, companies, organisations and entities• Finalists must pay their own travel costs to participate in The Carbon Economy Summit in Washington DC, but each presenter will receive a free registration to theevent, a value of $2,495.
