Due to the very fast and optimised fractionation process there is low formation of sugar degradation products with potential inhibitory effects in the downstream processes. The sugars have been sucessfully fermented by several industrial bacterial and fungal strains. The C6 in most cases is a drop-in solution for bioprocess developed on dextrose syrups.
