ChemFAST Top series fume cupboards meet all routine requirements.? ChemFAST Elite series units have additional microprocessorcontrol.This ensures that all functional and operational parameters aremonitored, facilitating the correct operation of the fume cupboards.ChemFAST fume cupboards are used for the containment andremoval of toxic vapours and aerosol, providing operator safetyin a wide range of disciplines.BEYOND MINIMUM SAFETYREQUIREMENTSChemFAST cabinets are bench topmodels with epoxy painted galvanizedsteel structure for superior chemicalresistance; epoxy painted steel basestand is available as option with footrest bar.ChemFAST Top is designed to meet all the routine safety requirements encountered by both the operator and the environment through the use of chemical reagents.Units are equipped with a manual device to set the inlet air velocity when heavy or volatile chemicals are used and are supplied with fluorescent lighting.ChemFAST Elite is designed with a microprocessor controlledsystem for a range of data which includes type and code number of the filter being used, installation date, maximumtime allowance for filter use and a warning date for its replace-ment. Built in with five different languages like Italian, English, German, French and Spanish. Audible and visualalarms are also available to protect the operator.These alarms cover out of range minimum and maximum airvelocity, filter saturation, prefilter clogging, anemometer failure, gas detector failure and motorfan malfunctioning.ChemFAST Elite is equipped with fluorescent lighting as wellas optional vacuum tap and power point.APPLICATIONSApplications for ChemFASTfume cupboards may be foundin many laboratories, includingthose in clinical diagnostic testing, biological and medicalresearch, analytical chemistry,Q.C., biotechnology, pharma-ceutical industries, food, finechemical, petrochemical, cosmetic, photographic laboratories and electronic industries.CHEMFAST TOP AND ELITE FUMECUPBOARDS USING THE LATEST MOLECULAR FILTRATION TECHNOLOGYChemFASTLaboratory Fume CupboardsChemFASTLaboratory Fume CupboardsThe filters used in the fume cup-boards are manufactured from highgrade coconut shell charcoal.All types of activated charcoal usedin these filters are of amorphousstructure obtained from the heat controlled oxidation of coconut shells.The cellulose structure of the coconuts provides the highest adsorption efficiency through a largesurface area of up to 1050 m2/gm. FILTER TYPESa) PRE-FILTERSHigh performance pre-filters are designed to remove particulatesfrom the air stream.The filter material is based on electrets, which are permanentlycharged di-electrics.They remove particulates from polluted air by strong electrostaticforces generated by the fibres fromwhich they are made.The combination of strong electriccharges and open structure providesa filter with high efficiency, low airflow resistance and high loadingcapacity.Pre-filter efficiency is equal to75÷85% dust weight arrestance(ASHRAE).b) MAIN FILTERSEight types of f ilter media are available.Most of these are impregnated acti-vated carbon, to provide a higher filter capacity for lower molecularweight organic compounds and inor-ganic gases and vapours.A number of filter efficiency studieshave been carried out, and all resultsusing single bed filters show efficiencies very close to 100%.1. A/C FILTERThe A/C filter is the most widelyused filter in the range, and is usedprimarily for solvent fume removal.It is manufactured from coconut-shell based activated carbon of 4 x 8USS mesh size and surface area upto 1050 m2/gm.Filtration is achieved by the physicaladsorption of molecules in the poresof the activated carbon by Van derWaals forces.Primary use: organic odours, hydro-carbons, aromatic solvents, animalodours, excrements, urines, acidodours, cadaverine, putrescine.Secondary use: oxygenated nitro-gen compounds.2. ACR FILTERThis filter is impregnated with halidesalts and is used for the high efficiency removal of iodine andmethyl iodine.It is frequently used for iodination reactions with low-level radioactive iodine and efficiencies in excess of99,99% have been measured.Primary use: radioactive iodine. Secondary use: hydrocarbons.3. FORM FILTERThis filter is impregnate with an oxiding agent to oxidise formalde-hyde to form salts.It is widely used in hospital patho-logy and cytology laboratories.Primary use: formaldehyde.Secondary use: organic emissions,hydrocarbons, aromatic solvents,acid gases.4. SULF FILTERPrimary use: acid odours, putrescine,cadaverine, acid gases, hydrogensulphide, methyl mercaptan, sulphur compounds, sulphur dioxide,R.H.>85%.5. UR FILTERPrimary use: acid odours, pu-trescine, cadaverine, acid gases, hy-drogen sulphide, methyl mercaptan,sulphur compounds, sulphur dioxide,nitrogen oxygenated compounds.Secondary use: organic emissions,hydrocarbons, aromatic solvents,hydrocyanic acid, R.H. <85%.6. CYAN FILTERPrimary use: hydrocyanic acid.Secondary use: organic emissions,hydrocarbons, aromatic solvents.7. MER FILTERPrimary use: mercury vapoursSecondary use: organic emissions,hydrocarbons.8. HEPA FILTERPrimary use: powder and particu-late.ACTIVATED CHARCOAL FILTERSADDITIONAL ACTIVATED CHARCOAL FILTERSChemFAST unit may be optionally fitted with additional charcoal filter whenever the applica-tion requires for simultaneous use of differentkind of solvents which can not be retained bystandard charcoal filter. The additional filter is lo-cated into an external housing made in epoxypainted steel which can be fitted with or withoutspigot for external ducting.Additional filter housing with spigot for external ductingAdditional filter housing re-circulating typeA wide range of filters is avail-able, from activated charcoaladsorbing filters to chemical adsorbing filters for specific applications such as the use offormalin, gluteraldehyde or radioactive iodine labelled com-pounds and for others appli-cations.The ChemFAST 06 unit incorpo-rates a carbon filter whichweighs approximately 13-21, 5 Kg,the ChemFAST 09 unit incorpo-rates two carbon filters with atotal weight of approximately 18-28,8 Kg and the ChemFAST 12unit incorporates two carbon filters with a total weight ofabout 26-43 Kg.ChemFAST 15 incorporates threecarbon filters with a total weightof about 35-58 Kg.Life time of the carbon filters isproportional to the overall weightof the charcoal fitted inside thefilter. Faster ChemFast series is outfitwith the biggest filters availablein the market to house a largequantity of carbons thus expand-ing the filter life time.Each fume cupboard is equippedwith disposable type prefilters,with an efficiency of 75%-85%dust weight arrestance (ASHRAE)to protect the main activatedcharcoal filter.FILTRATIONChemFASTLaboratory Fume CupboardsOPTIONALChemFAST cabinet may be optionally fitted with water tapand drain system.Work surface and all drain connections are made in AISI304L stainless steel. Water tap can be positioned onthe right or on the left hand side. The unit fitted with optionalwater tap is completed with anepoxy painted base standmounted on castors with twohinged doors and handles. Amenities for connection to thewater building management sys-tem is not provided with the kit.SAFETY GLASS FRONTALSCREENUpwards opening hinged safety glass frontwindow, designed for easy introduction ofinstruments into the work chamber and foreasy access for cleaning and maintenance.Safety glass side walls. (AISI 304 stainlesssteel available as option).CONSTRUCTIONChemFAST series have a cold rolled epoxypainted galvanized body for superior resist-ant againsts chemical solvents aggression.DESIGN FEATURESEach ChemFAST cupboard contains an IP54 centrifu-gal motorfan, capable of maintaining a constant airflow by compensating for the clogging of the prefil-ters, which occurs during normal operation.The ChemFAST Top series is equipped with a manualdevice for adjusting the air velocity to obtain the appropriate air velocity for each specific contaminantused.The ChemFAST Elite series is equipped with a micro-processor based monitoring system.Each unit has a liquid crystal display to show the facespeed and a digital setting system to select the mostsuitable velocity for each specific contaminant used.(only for Elite model).REPLACEMENT FILTEREasy charcoal filter replacement from the front.KEYBOARD?
