Chemical Resitance ECO-PA
DuPont Powder Coatings Edition of June 2003, subject to modifications (MM) Chemical resistance ECO-PA Tanks ECO-PA tanks have an internal liner based on Abcite® by DuPont which accomplish with the standards established in 2002/72/CE (and RD140/2003 (98/83/CEE)in Spain) for drinking water. Resistance to chemical products is described in tables contained in this document. Guide to chemical resistance The chemical resistance data presented in the following table originated in part from tests conducted at DuPont Laboratories and, in part, from reliable published sources. General guide to resistance to various chemicals Resistance code Caution code R Resistant, no indication that O Oxidizer Serviceability would be impaired V Variable resistance, depending P Plasticizer on conditions of use* U Not resistant. Not recommended A Known stress crack agent** for service applications under any conditions B Possible stress crack agent** * The classification “variable resistance” is very broad. Depending on the nature of the chemical, its concentration, the service temperature and pressure, and the time of exposure of the liner can be either very resistant or very susceptible to attack. Therefore, where liner is said to have variable resistance to a chemical, it is critical that extensive pretesting be conducted. ** A system using liner in exposure to a chemical to which it is designated resistant, but which carries a stress identifier (A or B), may be serviceable over a useful lifetime providing the following precautions are observed: a.Stresses must be minimized by design and processing. b.Conditions and limitations of the application should be carefully observed (avoidance of high temperature, etc.) DuPont Powder Coatings Edition of June 2003, subject to modifications (MM) Chemical resistance data - Abcite® gradesCaution Chemical Caution Chemicalcode code21° C 60° C 21° C 60° C(70° F) (140° F) (70° F) (140° F)B Acetaldehyde(100%O) V U Benzoic Acid R RAcetic Acid (10%) R R Bismuth Carbonate R RB Acetic Acid (60%) R V Black Liquor R RAcetic Anhydride R R Bleach Lye (10%) R RAcetone R * Borax R RAcrylic Emulsions R R Boric Acid R RAdipic Acid R R Brine R RAir R R Bromic Acid R VB, P Allyl Chloride U U O Bromine, Liquid U UAluminum Chloride R R O Bromine, Vapor (25%) U UAluminum Fluoride R R O Bromine, Water U UAluminum Hydroxide R R P Butadiene V *Aluminum Nitrate R R P Butane R *Aluminum Oxychloride R R A Butanediol R VAluminum Sulfate R R Butter R RAlums (all types) R R P n-Butyl Acetate(100%) R VAmmonia (100% dry gas) R R A n-Butyl Alcohol (100%) V UAmmonia, Liquid R R Butyric Acid U UAmmonium Acetate R R Cadmium Cyanide R RAmmonium Carbonate R R Calcium Bisulf ite R RAmmonium Chloride R R Calcium Bilsulf ide R RAmmonium FIuoride R R Calcium Carbonate R RAmmonium Hydroxide(10-28%) R R Calcium Chlorate R RAmmoniUm Metaphosphate R R Calcium Chloride R RAmmonium Nitrate R R Calcium Hydroxide R RAmmonium Persulfate R R B Calcium Hydroxide (bleach solut.)
