Conductivity is measured by submerging the two metal electrodesof the probe in the solution to be measured. The passage of current betweenthe two probes allows the electrical resistance of the liquid and therefore itsconductivity to be measured. The measurement is influenced by thetemperature. In saline solutions, there are variations of 2% / °C. This variationcan reach 7% / C, therefore the use conductivity probes with no temperaturesensor is preferable if the solution being examined remains at a temperatureof between 15 °C and 25 °C.For industrial applicationsDual parameter versions available4238-22 [pH/REDOX - Conductivity]4293-22 [Chlorine - Conductivity]S411-S428 Conductivity probesMeasuring range4223 Inductive conductivityConductivity0 to 1,000 µS; 0 to 10,000 µS; 0 to 100,000 µS;0 to 1 Simens (0 to 999.999 mS)Resolution 1 µS; 10 µS; 100 µS; 1,000 µSS411/IND Inductive conductivity sensorsThe S410/IND series of inductive sensors has been engineered anddeveloped to produce an electrode that is very powerful but at thesame time competitive. The result has been obtained by moulding thesensor made using polypropylene reinforced with fibreglass. This sensor offers all the advantages of the inductive cond.measurement method, including the absence of passivation of theconventional conductivity electrodes. All the sensors in the S410/INDrange are temperature-compensated, and are also designed for in-line, submersion or tank installation.4Low maintenance4Versions for in-line, submersion or tankinstallation4Ideal for cooling towers, process water, concentrated solutionsTechnical dataSensor Temperature -5 to 60°C(without freezing)Contact materials Glass-reinforcedpolypropyleneTemp. compensation 2 PT1000 wiresCable Standard 5 metreConnection ½" BSP maleProtection rating IP68Materials PVC with Viton gasketsOperating temperature -5 to 60 °C (without freezing)Submersion length 600 or 1200 mmAssembly Standard bracket oroptional flangeOperating pressure From vacuum to 6.5bar (100 psi)MechanicalconstructionDual parameter versions available4238-23 [pH/REDOX - Inductive cond.]4293-23 [Chlorine - Inductive cond.]Measuring range Measurementand ControlMain measuring rangeThe oxygen contained in the liquids is measured using the so-called Clark cell system. These cells generate acurrent proportional to the partial pressure of the oxygen, which can be detected using a suitable signalconverter. In order to prevent interference during measuring, the Clark cell is protected by a gas-permeablemembrane. The membranes typically used are made from PTFE but, as this material is mechanically fragile, frequent changing is often necessary, along with the related “demanding” operations (interruption ofmeasurement, replacement of the electrolyte, regeneration of the electrodes). The S423 solves this problem byusing a membrane made from OPTIFLOW™. Manufactured as a sheet around a layer of steel, it is very stablemechanically and very resistant to chemically aggressive environments as well as high pressure. Thanks to thespecial construction of the measuring electrodes, this system also makes the sensor totally “maintenance free”.MaintenanceOXYSENS™ sensors are maintenance-free, and do not require the replacement of the membrane, electrolyte orregeneration of the electrodes, to measure the oxygen in aqueous samples. Typical applications include watertreatment plants and the fish industry.Electrode material Silver-platinum combinationElectrolyte Alkaline solutionMembrane OPTIFLOW™Temperature sensor NTC 22 kOhmPolarisation current -670 +/- 50 mVSensitivity 40 ... 80 nA at 25 °C in airStabilisation time typical 15 min., max. 1 hOperating temperature 0 ... 60 °CStorage temperature -10 ... 60 °C, with water insidethe protective capPressure 0 ... 4 bar during insertion; max.0.5 bar in total during submersionOuter diameter 12 mmConnection PG 13.5 – threadedConstruction materials 1.4435 stainless steel, PEEK,silicone, NBRRegeneration not requiredResponse time t98%max. 60 s at 25 °C, from air tonitrogenTemperature response approx. 3.1%/KMeasuring liquid speed min. 0.03 m/sInfluence of flow rate < 5% at 25°COxygen consumption approx. 20 ng/h in air at 25 °CResidual current < 0.5% current in airZero drift< 0.5% current in air every 2months at 25°C or in water instable conditionsSensitivity drift < 10% every 2 months at 25°C inwater in stable conditionsTechnical dataMeasurementand ControlDissolved oxygen0 to 20.0 ppm or mg/l - 0 to 200% SATResolution 0.1 ppm or mg/l - 1% SATS423/OXYSENS™4283 Dissolved OxygenDual parameter versions available4238-83 [pH/REDOX - Dissolved oxygen]4262-83 [Turbidity - Dissolved oxygen]4263-83 [Suspended solids - Dissolved oxygen]4283-83 [Dissolved oxygen - Dissolved oxygen]with S423/C/OPT optical sensor onlyMeasuring rangeMeasuring principle Optical by means of luminescenceMeasuring ranges 0,00…20,00ppm / 0-200 % Sat0…50°CResolution 0,01 ppmPrecision +/-0,1ppm / +/-1 %Temperature compensation via NTCResponse time 90% of the actual value in less than60 secondsLiquid stirring speed Not requiredDigital interface RS-485 ModbusMaximum refresh time < 1 secondMembrane Interchangeable sensor capTypical duration 2 years.Electrodes No electrodeElectrolyte No electrolyteDimensions Diameter: 34 mmLength: 180 mmFitting: 3/4" maleWeight 850 g (sensor + 10 m cable)Materials in contact with the liquid Stainless steel 316L/PVCMaximum operating pressure 5 barProtection rating IP68Storage temperature -10….. + 60°CTechnical dataFields of application• Biological purification systems (aeration, nitrification/denitrification tanks etc.)• Industrial water treatment plants• Monitoring surface water• Aquaculture• Water conditioningOptical technologyThe S432/C/OPT sensor measures oxygen with a built-in temperature probe. The measuring technique isbased on the optical principle: a diode emits a light blue towards a support on which a fluorescent substrate isapplied. The substrate initially reacts by emitting a red light (luminescence), then returns to its initial state. Theintensity of the red light produced and the rate of return to the initial state are related to the concentration ofoxygen present. This innovative method ensures reliable, accurate measurements with no drift over time, therefore system calibration is no longer necessary. No maintenance is required except for replacing theluminescent support about every two years. The system does not consume oxygen, therefore it is suitable forthe most varied fields of application, including those in which the measuring liquid is almost stationary.Digital technologyBuilt-in pre-amplification circuit and digital signal processing. The S432/C/OPT sensor saves the calibrationdata for optimal data management. The output signal is provided on the RS 485 serial port.Physical characteristicsCompact, sturdy and lightweight, the stainless steel body enables fixed or portable applications.4Optical technology: no membrane or electrolyte4No signal drift: no calibration4Digital output: Modbus RS-4854Sturdy stainless steel structureS432/C/OPTOxygen and temperature sensor with OPTICAL technology Measurementand ControlMeasurementand Control4293 Chlorine and other oxidantsDual parameter versions available4238-93 [pH/REDOX - Chlorine]4262-93 [Turbidity - Chlorine]4293-22 [Chlorine - Conductivity]4293-23 [Chlorine - Inductive cond.]4293-93 [Chlorine - Chlorine]chosen from Free, Total, Dioxide, Ozone, PAA, H2O2Measuring rangefrom 0 to 100,000 ppm to be selected in relationto the type of sensor connectedS 494 Amperometric sensors with membraneAmperometric sensors with 2 or 3 membrane-covered electrodes with built-in temperature sensor for signal compensation.Assembly in a flow-through cell with constant flow (S305PX).Fields of application – Swimming pool, drinking, service, process water.– The sample should not contain surfactants.
