CONSTRUCTION The materials used for the fabrication of these Dampers MF depend on the temperatures and the working pressures. These valves can be operated manually by lever or gear, or automatically by pneumatic cylinder, in this case it can be double or single acting, air to open or air to close. The actuation mechanisms are generally composed by a lever connected to the edge of the disk shaft. The seat construction will variate depending on the tightness requisitions. INSTALLATION The MF Damper is bidirectional, it can be mounted in any of the two directions. Special care is needed when establishing the correct distance between the counter flanges, their line-up and parallelism. The wrong placement of the counter flanges will originate distortions in the body, therefore working difficulties. WORKING The valve will open or close manually or automatically turning the lever in one or the other direction. The air pressure, when the valves are pneumatically operated, won't be less than 5,5 kg/cm2 and not more than 8 kg/cm2. To protect the pneumatic system and to check the pressure supply, a filter and regulation unit with manometer will be installed. SAFETY INFORMATION • Check that the crane is well supported to hold the weight of the equipment to raise. • Make sure the computers are properly covered. Both during the assembly process of dismantling the equipment it is recommended to use slings. ASSEMBLY To avoid personal injury or property it must be taken into account the following points: • Staff in charge of the operation and maintenance of equipment must be qualified and trained in operations with this type of equipment. • Use appropriate protections (gloves, safety boots, goggles, helmet, reflective vest ...). Before you start assembling equipments, check them to make sure there was no damage during transportation or storage period. Ensure that the internal cavities of the team are clean and inspect the pipe flanges to ensure they are clean and free of foreign materials. According to the manufacturing standard, equipments are designed for a flow direction and should be taken into account during the assembly. Important issues to consider during the assembly: - According to the manufacturing standard, equipments are designed for a flow direction and should be taken into account during the assembly. Observe the equipments to confirm this point. - Take special care to maintain the proper distance between the flanges of union and the proper alignment and parallels. A wrong placement of the flanges union can cause deformities in the body that will mean difficulties during the operation. - Equipments must be firmly installed in the pipe. - Once equipments are assembled, make sure that there are no elements, both externally and internally, which might impede the movement of the blades. - Make the relevant connections (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic) in the drive system of equipment following the instructions and wiring diagrams that come with them. - The operation of the equipment must be coordinated with the staff of control and safety at work and did not permit any change in the elements of external indication of the equipments (limit switches, possitioners etc.) Important aspects of security for employees: - Areas where there is a movement, both internally and externally for driving, are areas of risk. Especially in equipments supplied with performance systems without the need for energy (tank, counterweight ...), since there is the risk of movement even when disconnected from the electrical grid, water line or line of pressurized air. - To work under security conditions, suitable magnetic and electrical items must be at rest and air tanks depressurise. Likewise, also the control of electrical cabinets must be found out of service. Amategui Aldea 142, 20400 Txarama-Tolosa (SPAIN) Phone: 943-67.33.99 / Fax:943.67.24.40 / cmo@cmo.es http://www.cmo.es -3- D A M P E R B U T T E R F L Y V A L V E - M O D E L M F D O C . Note: Due to its great importance, and although it is mentioned later in the maintenance instructions, you should verify that the axis or axes of the gates are free to load before removing the drive system. INSTRUCTIONS FOR TRANSPORT AND STORAGE HANDLING During the handling of equipment, during transportation (loading and unloading) is due to put special emphasis on the following points: • Check that the crane is able to support the weight of the equipment to raise. • Make sure the computers are properly covered. • Do not elevate equipments with the crane holding in the area of operationEquipments are supplied with lifting lugs for that purpose, as the team's own weight could damage the drive. • Do not elevate equipments by holding the area of step flow This can cause damage to the closures and areas of tightness. • It is recommended to raise equipments using slings Packing in wooden boxes Where the packaging is done in wooden boxes is necessary that the boxes are fitted with subject areas where clearly marked were in slings when it comes to be moored. If two or more gates are packed together, it should provide elements of separation and subjugation among them to avoid possible movement, shock and friction during transport. The storage of two or more gates in a single box should be carried out so that the gates are properly supported to avoid warping. In case of maritime shipments is recommended the use of vacuum bags within their own wooden boxes to protect computers from contact with seawater. Putting a focus on maintaining the proper grading of both the gates during loading and unloading and during transportation to avoid distortions in equipments. This will recommend the use of racks or benches. STORAGE In that case equipment will be stored for a certain period of time until its installation is important to follow the following tips in order to protect them: • The storage place should be dry and indoors. Amategui Aldea 142, 20400 Txarama-Tolosa (SPAIN) Phone: 943-67.33.99 / Fax:943.67.24.40 / cmo@cmo.es http://www.cmo.es -4- D A M P E R B U T T E R F L Y V A L V E - M O D E L M F D O C . M P . 1 0 / 0 8 C.M.O. • It is not recommended to store equipment outdoors directly under atmospheric conditions such as rain, wind and even less so if equipments are devoid of packaging. This recommendation is even more important in areas of high humidity and saline environments. • The wind carries dust and particles that may come into contact with areas lubricated motion of the valve and this can lead to difficulties in future operate. Also on system performance may be damaged due to the introduction of particles into different components. • The storage must be carried out on a flat surface to prevent deformation of equipments. • Where the equipment is stored without the proper packaging is important to keep lubricated areas of movement of the valve, which is why we recommend a periodic review and lubrication of them. • Likewise, if there are unprotected surface machined surfaces is important bearing applied a protective surface to prevent the onset of corrosion. INSTRUCTIONS FOR FITTING AND STARTING UP HANDLING During the handling of equipment during the assembly should put special emphasis on the following points: • Do not elevate equipments with the crane holding in the area of operation Equipments are supplied with lifting lugs for that purpose, as the equipment's own weight could damage the drive. • Do not elevate equipments by holding the area of step flow This can cause damage to the closures and areas of tightness. Important issues to consider during the assembly: According to the manufacturing standard, equipments are designed for a flow direction and should be taken into account during the assembly. Observe both of equipments to confirm this point. - Take special care to maintain the proper distance between the flanges of union and the proper alignment and - parallels. A wrong placement of the flanges union can cause deformities in the body that can be translated into - difficulties during the operation. - Equipments must be firmly installed on duct le. The union can be bolted to the duct or by welding. - When the union is screwed to the duct is to place a leakproof seal between the duct and the gate to avoid possible leaks to the outside. The board should be installed at selected depending on the conditions of operation within the duct (temperature, pressure, fluid). - The screws and nuts to place must be well suited to the conditions of operation and its measure must be in accordance with the approved plans. The installation of the bolts and nuts should be diametrically in the case of round ducts and end to end in the case of square or rectangular ducts. - The torque to be applied to the nuts and bolts of union must be correct in accordance with the applicable standard and is recommended to make the initial assembly with a low torque and then take all the screws placed to make the final push. When the union is welded to the duct must take into account the positions of welding and materials of the gate and the conduit. This will allow both the choice of personnel qualified to perform the procedure as welding or brazing procedures to follow. Initially, it should be placed and leveling the equipment at the site is going to be a soldier. Once the equipment placed at the site was initially recommended by a welding brackets and go to controlling the tensions that are created by the process of welding. After conducting the continuous welding of the union between the duct and the gate. The equipment needed to carry out the welds (type of welding electrodes etc.) and the preparation of edges will be specified in the selected procedure Weld. - It is vital that during the assembly process there is no deformation on computers, as these can lead to an incorrect operation. - With respect to scaffolding, ladders and other auxiliary equipment to be used during assembly to follow the safety recommendations outlined in Section 2) of this dossier. - Once assembled equipments to make sure that there are no elements, both externally and internally, which might impede the movement of the lamas. - Make the relevant connections (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic) in the drive system of equipment following the instructions and wiring diagrams that come with them. - The operation of the equipment must be coordinated with the staff of control and safety at work and did not permit any change in the elements of external indication of equipments (limit switches, positioners etc.) - When it comes to operating the equipment follow the safety recommendations outlined in Section 2) of this dossier. Note: Due to its great importance should be to verify that the driving axle of the gates are free to load before removing the drive system.. Taking into account the recommendations listed below are keeping operations that are carried out in this type of equipment: CHANGE OF PACKING It is recommended conducting an inspection of the gaskets every 6 months to identify any leakage to the outside. In case of detection of the existence of leakage should be proceeding to change the worn out by a new gasket. Amategui Aldea 142, 20400 Txarama-Tolosa (SPAIN) Phone: 943-67.33.99 / Fax:943.67.24.40 / cmo@cmo.es http://www.cmo.es -7- D A M P E R B U T T E R F L Y V A L V E - M O D E L M F D O C . M P . 1 0 / 0 8 C.M.O. The procedure is as follows: - Depressurise circuit - Follow the recommendations for safety shutdown of shares specified in the road before. - Release the gland. - Remove the gasket used and worn. - Clean the cashier which houses the gasket. - Replace worn by a new gasket of the same characteristics and that is appropriate for the conditions of service. - Distribute evenly the various lines of gasket, replace the gland to its original position and tighten up to check that there are no leaks. CHANGE OF JOINTS IN ACTUATORS Acted on computers using pneumatic or hydraulic actuators can present different problems to be working for long periods of time. Most common problems are usually due to wear of gaskets of the cylinders, causing the two chambers of the cylinder to communicate or leakage to the outside. To avoid such problems is the installation of filters before the entrance to the drive to clean and lubricate the fluid pressure, either air or oil. This will lengthen the life of the drives. Amategui Aldea 142, 20400 Txarama-Tolosa (SPAIN) Phone: 943-67.33.99 / Fax:943.67.24.40 / cmo@cmo.es http://www.cmo.es -8- D A M P E R B U T T E R F L Y V A L V E - M O D E L M F D O C . M P . 1 0 / 0 8 C.M.O. In case of observance of the above problems is necessary to change the boards worn by new boards and this involves the dismantling of the drive. In cases be necessary to replace the boards will recommend using original spare boards. LUBRICATION OF BEARINGS It is important to follow a standard procedure lubrication or lubrication of bearings as they are the ones that allow the axles rotate in a free form and soft. In the long run, not following a procedure lubrication in the bearings or bearings may result in an increase of two equipments and potential performance problems. The bearings are fitted with grease points are easily accessible from the outside. Depending on the maneuvers of the gate the time period in which we must perform maintenance is different. As a general idea if you consider that the gate is operated by an average of less than 2 per day maneuvers will be carried out by the oil every 6 months. If, by contrast, the number of maneuvers is 2 to 4 per day, I realize the oil every 3 months. For larger numbers to perform the maneuver was recommended greasing every 2 months. There are two types of fats has used as a function of temperature. Here are the datasheets of the two types of fats used, for a high temperature and low temperature for another. RECOMMENDED SPARE PARTS The listing of recommended spare parts is made up mainly of the parts that are going to be put under a habitual wearing down and are the following: - A spare kit of packing for each one of the equipment. - A spare kit for the actuator (habitually provided for pneumatic and hydraulic drives) Amategui Aldea 142, 20400 Txarama-Tolosa (SPAIN) Phone: 943-67.33.99 / Fax:943.67.24.40 / cmo@cmo.es http://www.cmo.es -9-
