CO2 Dosing Fan- Brochure
ZantinghCO2 dosingsystemsYoucan counton ourexpertiseThe Zantingh CO2 units are used for central CO2 dosage in glasshouses. The fluegasses from natural gas-fired boilers and cogeneration systems are transportedby an exhaust fan to the greenhouse area. The flue gas is distributed within thegreenhouses using PVC pipes and CO2 tubing. The Zantingh CO2 dosing systems are suitable for transporting flue gas fromnatural gas fired boilers with a maximum temperature of 60°C. The systemconsists of a stainless steel fan with a directly linked stainless steel impeller, a three-phase motor and a stainless steel valve section. This valve section hastwo openings for flue gas and air supply and has been provided with an open/close servomotor. The system is obviously also provided with all the requiredtemperature and pressure safeties and a flexible connection sleeve at the inletand the outlet sides. The fan with valve section is built on a sturdy support frame and can be moun-ted on the floor or at a specific height, for example, on the flue gas condenser. A mounting set with support legs can be included in the delivery when orderedin combination with a Zantingh flue gas condenser. A CO2 switch panel for the control of the CO2 dosing system can be provided(separately). The switches for multiple fans can be combined into a single switchpanel. Other CO2 options, such as a CO detector or a flue gas valve control canbe added to the switch panel. The switches for the CO2 system can also bebuilt-in into the burner system switch panel. The switch panel has all control and safety equipment and is supplied based on the local safety rules. When the fan has a capacity greater than 3.0 kW, thepanel is provided with a star/delta connection. The delivery side of the fan canbe supplied in various positions. This means that the units can be used withoutany problems under virtually any circumstances.Stainless steelCO2 dosingsystemStandard stainless steel CO2 dosing system delivery:• A stainless steel fan provided with a three-phase motor with a directly linkedstainless steel impeller.• A specially constructed, built-on stainless steel inlet combination valve. This inlet combination valve has an open/close servomotor.• A complete switch panel that meets the requirements of the applicable regulations. • A pressure switch for monitoring the flow.• A maximum thermostat for maximum temperature safety.• A flexible sleeve for the connection of the piping onto the inlet and outlet side of the fan.CO DetectorThe Zantingh CO detector is suitable for measuring CO on the pressure side of the CO2 fan or in the pipes (overpressure system). The detector is suppliedwith a sensor of the semiconductor type. This sensor is completely selective forwhat concerns measuring CO levels. This protection is essential to prevent thatharmful carbon monoxide can reach the greenhouse area. The display unit of theCO detector is mounted on the front (door) together with the switch panel whendelivered.Standard Zantingh CO detector delivery:• A digital display for the CO concentration in ppm.• A CO sensitive sensor that is placed directly in the flue gas flow (maximum fluegas temperature is 40°C).• A sensor support with a set of hoses. The CO detector can be expanded with a sampling pump to detect CO directlybehind the flue gas condenser (underpressure system). This option is especiallyinteresting when multiple sources of CO2 are used (boiler, cogeneration, etc.).Options:The Zantingh CO2 dosing systems can be expanded with the following options:• Fan motor frequency control: when, for example, certain sections at green-houses are not to be supplied.• Modulating temperature control: when, for example, no flue gas condenseris mounted and the hot flue gas is to be mixed with air before entering thegreenhouse area.• CO2 switches for dosing from multiple sources: when dosing from, for example, a cogeneration system and/or pure CO2 (release control frommultiple sources). Zantingh delivers the “easy-connect” system to be used when mounting a CO2dosing system directly on the flue gas condenser. It has never been this easy tomount a CO2 unit directly next to a flue gas condenser. The CO2 unit is suppliedby Zantingh on a mounting frame. This frame can be mounted at a specificheight using, for example, a fork-lift truck. The CO2 unit is connected to thecondenser using a fitting piece which is mounted on the condenser. The frame issupported by the supplied support legs. Everything is premounted which makesassembly very easy. Other advantages are that the frame can be placed eitherto the left or to the right of the condenser, that multiple frames can be connectedin series and that the corresponding stack with roof lead-through are deliveredas standard. CO2 piping layout diagramsZantingh can provide complete CO2 piping layout diagrams. We determine themost optimal piping route based on a dimensional sketch of the available green-house area. The pressure distribution over the total surface area that has to bedosed is optimised through distribution by the CO2 fan which is generally set upin the boiler room. Therefore, the required PVC piping will vary in length anddiameter. The calculation program differentiates between main distribution pipingand CO2 tubing which is placed among the plants. The CO2 tubing is connectedto the piping network with special connection sets which have special throttlingplates. The diameter of the holes in the throttling plates varies and will be calcu-lated by Zantingh. In order to perform the calculation correctly it is important toknow both the type of crop as well as the dosage standard required (usually avalue expressed in cubic meters gas per hectare). The Zantingh CO2 piping layout diagrams guarantee the best possible dosageresult.
