Since establishment of our company in 1978 wehave been engaged in environmental technology asmanufactures of facilities and apparatuses for treat-ment of water / waste water as well as exhaust airpurification. We are a medium-sized company withapprox. 50 employees and do our own plastic tank,apparatus and controller construction.As a manufacturer authorized according to section19 i of the Water Resources Law as well as theRegulation on Flammable Liquids, specializing in theproduction of facilities for storage, filling, dosing andtreatment of water endangering substances, we aresubject to external quality assurance supervision bythe Technical Control Association of SouthernGermany.Moreover, Co. If required LIKUSTA can supply a test scrubber.Scrubber production in progressActivated Carbon Filter for waste gas treatment and odour controlThe Likusta odour control equipment with the spe-cially treated quality Desorex® Pi 50 K is designedto remove at least 99 % of the odorous gases fromair within a temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Cand a humidity range of 40 tot 90 %.The main odorous gases commonly found in sewa-ge air, biogas are:? Hydrogen sulphide? Indole and skatole? Methyl mercaptan? Methylamine? AmmoniaThe air is deodorised in a activated carbon filter –the zero odour level is reached by contacting the airthrough a bed of activated carbon in an adsorber.The carbon bed is sufficiently deep to assure com-plete odour removal at the nominal working point,but also at unexpected or seasonal peak concen-trations. The contact time between the air and theactivated carbon should be min. 3-4 seconds. The odours are adsorbed and catalytically conver-ted into sulphuric acid in the fine pore structure ofthe carbon.Carbon Filter Unit in PEHDDespite the thick bed depth, the differential pressu-re remains very reasonable. Indeed, the pelletisedcarbon type WATER REGENERABLE 4 mm size, isassuring 25 % less pressure drop than a convent-ional gas phase carbon. The reduced pressuredrop results also in 25 % savings for energy costs.The air leaves the filter free of objectionable odour.Potable water only is used to wash the saturatedcarbon. After 10 to 15 regeneration’s the carbon isexhausted and should be substitute. No need forchemicals, storage tanks, pumps, special safetyprescriptions, training for handling chemicals, emer-gency spray cabinets, special chemical resistantclothing, safety glasses e.g.Chlorine neutralizationChlorine-Emergency-Neutralization devices arescrubbers for the prevention of Chlorine emissionsin case of accidents caused by the deliberation ofChlorine from storage tanks, drums, Chlorine bott-les or chlorine dosage facilities used in water treat-ment and chemical industry.An alarm is set by a Chlorine alarm system whichthen activates the LIKUSTA-Chlorine-neutralization-unit. The exhaust air is guided through the LIKUSTAcounterflow packed scrubber by means of a chemi-cally resistant fan. According to the size of the faci-lity a certain amount of washfluid (10 – 20 %NaOH) is sprayed via nozzles into the counterflowby means of an immersion pump.The heat of the chemical reaction during the was-hing process is absorbed by the washing liquiditself.For the generation of the required exchange surfa-ce chemically resistant packing materials are used. The packing materials provide for the maximumexchange surface and smallest unit size with aminimum of energy needed. Before the neutralizedexhaust air leaves the scrubber, mist and aerosolsare retained by a demister unit with an efficiency of 98 %.The neutralization units are designed for transporta-tion in sea containers (export) and – if required fortransportation purposes - provided with a separa-ting flange. The assembly of the unit as well as the start up canbe done by the customer since all components arealready hooked up and electrically connected.chlorine gas scrubberchlorine gas scrubber with sun shedDesorption facilities / CO2 degasserLIKUSTA desorption facilities are used as mechani-cal-physical deacidification facilities in waterworksfor the reduction of CO2, for adjusting the pH valueor for the removal of toxic and / or odorous smells.Desorber, type KVBWe offer the following types of facilities (materials: PE / PP / FRP):? LIKUSTA type KVR cylindrical, round, upright, ascounterflow column with bulk packaging materials? LIKUSTA type KRR rectangular, upright, as coun-terflow column with packing material? LIKUSTA type FBB rectangular as flat bottomdegasser (very useful in case of limited space;height of the device 1,5 - 2m)flat bottom degasser, type FBBSoil and ground water treatmentGround level air exhaustionThe LIKUSTA chlorinated hydro carbon strippingfacilities operate following the counterflow principleand are available in a single or multi step construc-tion.The ground water polluted with hydro carbons isatomized via high efficiency packing materials,which create the required exchange surface.By vacuuming the air out of the well a vacuumbuilds up in the near by soil which causes evapora-tion of the chlorinated hydro carbons. Simultaneously the air is guided through the packing material following the principle of counter-flow and thus it takes the pollutants from the water.This process performs an efficiency of more than99 %.The polluted exhaust air is purified by adsorptionwith activated carbon.StripperControl panelsConstruction of control panels according to thelatest VDE- and IEC-guidelines.All control panles can be equipped with followingfunctions:?
