We work with more than 50 subcontractors throughout the country in our separate collection projects. We collect more than 4 500 tons of waste each month. Recovered quantitiesIn 2007, Ecobulpack’s clients released a total quantity of 109 400 tons of packaging materials on the market. The national recycling target rate of 39% makes Ecobulpack responsible for the recovery of 42 666 tons. Population servedIn 2007, the total population serviced by Ecobulpack’s systems for separate packaging waste collection was 1 810 149 people, which exceeded the planned target of 1 715 400 people. The total population served has thus increased over four times since the company started its operations four years ago. In 2007, Ecobulpack exceeded also its targets for the network density of separate waste collection containers. Investments In 2007, Ecobulpack invested BGN 10 258 099 in separate waste collection systems. The funds were invested for the purchase of containers, specialized transport devices , machinery and equipment, building of stations and waste sorting installations. This amount of investments exceeds by BGN 3 mln the investments made in 2006. Such waste sorting installations operate in Sliven, Gabrovo, Pazardjik and Russe.In May 2008, in Sofia, the company started the operation of the first installation in Bulgaria for reprocessing of packaging material of glass, plastics and paper. In 2006, the first waste sorting installation was put into operation in Sliven.? On 17 July 2007, the second waste sorting installation was commissioned in Gabrovo.? In the beginning of 2008, such installations started operation in Russe and Pazardjik.? On 15 May 2008, a plant for processing of glass, plastic and paper packaging waste started operation in Sofia.? In 2008 Ecobulpack has built another 3 installations in Targovishte, Plovdiv and Yambol. • The waste sorting installations are built in accordance with all normative regulations.• Hoisting and hauling devices, machinery and equipment are provided.• Safe labor conditions are ensured.Ecobulpack invests in waste sorting installations11Ecobulpack established the first waste glass sorting and recycling installation in Bulgaria and on the Balkan Peninsula, situated on the territory of the Sofia municipality.? The main part of the equipment was delivered by the Austrian company BINDER+CO, which is a technological leader in the field of sorting installations in Europe. ? The capacity of the installations is 40 000 tons per year.? The installation allows for the separation of the glass packaging from impurities such as porcelain, ceramics, organics, metal, and others.?
