While many consulting firms follow their clients inthe area of environmental stewardship, in recentyears Dillon has helped lead the way, both withand for our clients.Some client requirements involve compliance andpermitting. Other clients are concerned aboutoffsets and carbon trading, and product redesignto lower embedded energy and environmentaldamage and improve product recyclability. Dillonbrings an environmental perspective to theirorganization through broad-based environmentalmanagement systems and corporate levelstrategies.Several years ago we took steps towards“greening” our own operations through anenvironmental stewardship policy and acommitment to buy green power. Most of ouroffices were quick to embrace green measures andhave established office committees to developgreen initiatives including energy and wastereduction.We now follow our corporate environmentalmanagement strategy which sets environmentaltargets and clarifies roles related to reducing theenvironmental impact of our business in three keyareas: greenhouse gases, water and waste. We areimplementing over 30 specific initiatives to reducethe impact of our operations.Our environmental management strategy is one ofmany initiatives in Dillon’s approach tosustainablity.
