Pressure Drop – The cost/performance of DARCO H2S more than offsets any additional energy cost that may be required to overcome the slightly higher pressure drop resulting from use of DARCO H2S. Carbon Tetrachloride Activity – Activated carbon removes H2S from air by catalytic chemisorption and chemical reactions between the H2S and functional groups on the surface of the carbon pore structure. This chemical mechanism for H2S removal does not correlate with a carbon’s capacity for adsorption of carbon tetrachloride. Therefore, CCl4 activity has no value as an indicator of a carbon’s H2S removal capacity.
