When the contents reach a determined level, a switch activates a grinder pump that converts the tank contents into a slurry. This slurry is then pumped to the treatment phase using a small-diameter pipe.Unlike conventional gravity-fed sewer systems, there are no large concrete pipes to bury or worries about elevation. Instead, all wastewater is pumped through small-diameter plastic pipes that are buried in narrow trenches or with horizontal drilling equipment.
