Diffusion Type Gas Monitors Brochure

Reliable and provenObserverTMReliable and well provenThe Observer range gas detectors have become the standard safety solutions for many production facilities and research centres. They are not only used in cleanrooms but also very useful in many other hazardous environments. There are basically four diff erent types of Observer gas detectors, which can be equipped with universal plug-in modules for the provision of additional functions and communication protocols. The diff erent available type are: Semi Portable; Suction and Diff usion type. Either standard or in a IP65 enclosure for humid and dirty environments. All units comply with the most stringent quality standards and are extremely reliable. With the integrated self diagnostics functions you are quickly notifi ed on any possible disruption. In-Control Software will provide access to additional information about any changes in the status of the unit. By using an overall data-acquisition and monitoring system like SIMS-NX it is even possible to monitor the status of all detectors real-time. In this way there will never be a lack of clarity or information in case of an event.WAD-line Gas Detectors• Modular design.• Suction, diffusion and portable confi gurations. • Large VF display.• Integrated alarm handling and optional relay outputs.• Plug-in modules for connection to Profi bus-DP andSIMS networks.• Interface for local programming and alarm acknowledgement.• Complete system diagnostics.• Records trend and history data. • IP65 protection available.Fieldbus interface and integrated alarm handlingObserverBionics InstrumentSH-1007WADTX-WAD-WTX-WADPSH-1007-WADToxic Gas code TG-Gas to Detect Monitoring range (ppm) Sensor typeLow Standard HighhousingTX-WAD(W) (P)SH-1003-WAD(P)SH-1007-WAD100 Cl2 Chlorine 0 - 0.30 - 30 - 10 - 100 - 50GS-160DSGS-161DSGS-162DSGS-190HSGS-191HSGS-192HS400 HCl Hydrogen Chloride 0 - 20 - 150 - 50 - 150 - 200 GS-470DSGS-471DSGS-480DSGS-470HSGS-471HSGS-480HS500 SO2 Sulfur Dioxide 0 - 5 0 - 15 GS-580DS GS-580HS 700 HF Hydrogen Fluoride 0 - 9 0 - 50 GS-780DS GS-780HS800 O3 Ozone 0 - 0.3 0 - 3 GS-880DS GS-880HS900 Br2 Bromine0 - 0.30 - 30 - 10 - 10 GS-960DSGS-961DSGS-990HSGS-991HS1100 O2 Oxygen 0 - 25 % GS-1100DSZ GS-1100HSZ1200 CO Carbon Monoxide 0 - 50 0 - 100 0 - 1000 GS-1250ELS GS-1250ES1300 CO2 Carbon Dioxide 0 - 500 0 - 5 %0 - 10 %0 - 100 % GS-1300DSR GS-1300HSR1400 F2 ClF3 FluorineChlorine Trifluoride0 - 10 - 100 - 30 - 0.30 - 30 GS-1460DSGS-1461DSGS-1463DSGS-1490HS GS-1491HSGS-1493HS1500 H2 Hydrogen0 - 20000 - 4%0 - 4000GS-1550DSGS-1551DSGS-1550HSGS-1551HS1700 NONO2HNO3Nitric OxideNitrogen DioxideNitric Acid Vapour0 - 20 - 1000 - 90 - 60 - 1000 GS-1790ELSGS-1750DSGS-1783DSGS-1790ESGS-1750HSGS-1783HS2100 C2H5OHIPAEthyl AlcoholIso Propyl Alcohol0 - 10000 - 1000GS-2150ELSGS-2150ELSGS-2150ESGS-2150ES2300 CH4, C2H6, H2, ...CH4, C2H6, H2, ...Hydrocarbons - IR sensorHydrocarbons - Catalytic sens.0 - 100% LEL0 - 100% LELGS-2300DSRGS-2300DSCGS-2300HSRGS-2300HSC2400 NH3 CH3 NH2C2H5NH2(CH3)2 NH(CH3)2 N(C2H5)3NAmmoniaMethylamineEthylamineDimethylamineTrimethylamineTriethylamine0 - 25 0 - 750 - 300 - 300 - 300 - 750 - 750 - 1000 GS-2460DSGS-2460DSGS-2460DSGS-2460DSGS-2460DSGS-2460DSGS-2460HSGS-2460HSGS-2460HSGS-2460HSGS-2460HSGS-2460HS2500 N2H4 1)TDMAT2)C2H4 (NH2)2HydrazineEthylene Diamine0 - 1 0 - 20 - 10 - 1 GS-2560DSGS-2560DSGS-2560DSGS-2560HSGS-2560HSGS-2560HS2800 Si(C2H5O)4TEOS 0 - 30 GS-2800OP-D GS-2800OP-SGS-2800SA3000 Si(C2H5O)4TEOS 0 - 30 GS-3050ELS GS-3050ES3100 General Acid GS-3180DS GS-3180HS3200 H2Se Hydrogen Selenide 0 - 0.2 GS-3260DS GS-3260HS3300 C2H2C2H4AcetyleneEthylene0 - 2000 - 2000GS-3360DSGS-3350ELSGS-3360HSGS-3350ES3400 Chlorides3)HBr Hydrogen Bromide0 - 150 - 9GS-3470DSGS-3480DSGS-3471DSGS-3470HSGS-3480HSGS-3471HS3700 Fluorides4)0 - 9 GS-3780DS GS-3780HS3900 H2O2 Hydrogen Peroxide 0 - 30 GS-3980DS GS-3980HS4000 PH3 AsH3SiH4B2H6Al(CH3)2HPhosphine 5)Arsine 5)Silane 5)Diborane 5)DMAH 5)0 - 0.50 - 0.20 - 150 - 0.30 - 20GS-4060DS GS-4060HS4100 NF3 Nitrogen Trifluoride 0 - 30 — GS-4150HS4200 HCFC 6)Freon® 0 - 150 — GS-4270HSGS-4280HS4300 CCl4CHCl3Carbon TetrachlorideChloroform0 - 30 — GS-4370HS GS-4380HS4400 CH3Br Methyl Bromide 0 - 50 — GS-4490HS4500 SF6 Sulfur Hexafluoride 0 - 200 — GS-4580HS4600 N2O Nitrous Oxide 0 - 1% — GS-4650HS4700 HFC7) ,PFC8)C4F60 - 500 - 15— GS-4780HSGS-4780HS5000 GeH4 (CH3)3SiH(CH3O)3SiHGermaneTrimethyl SilaneTrimetoxy Silane0 - 0.60 - 150 - 15GS-5050ELSGS-5050ELSGS-5050ELSGS-5050ESGS-5050ESGS-5050ES7000 AsH3, TBA, TBP, TMA, TMB, TMPi, SiH4, PH3, B2H6Arsine 0 - 0.2 — GS-7050KTSS1) Hydrazine: N2H4 -MMH: Monomethyl Hydrazine PHH: Phenyl Hydrazine UDMH: Unsymmetrical Dimethyl Hydrazine2) TDMAT: Ti[N(CH3)2]43) Chlorides: SiCl4, SiH2Cl2, POCl3, SnCl4, SnCl4, SbCl5, BCl3 4) Fluorides: SiF4, BF3, WF6, AsF3, PF5, AsF5, MoF6 .....5) Hydrides: PH3 AsH3 SiH4 B2H6 DMAH: Dimethyl Aluminium Hydride6) Freon: R22, R123, R124, R141b, R142b, R2257) HFC: R23, R125, R134a, R143a, R152a8) PFC: CF4 , C2F6, C3F6, C4F8, C5F8In-controlTM software makes confi guring the unit a quick and easy operation.Portable unit PSH-WADFeatures of the WAD unitsMaximum security and clear informationObviously the presence of gas must be detected accurately whilst the gas sensor should be selective and preferably 100% stable It is also important to understand that gas detection is a dynamic process - a process of gas transport and chemical and electrochemical reactions in which continuous control is essential. Managing this process requires continuous monitoring of the ? ow and if required the status of the pyrolyzer Moreover, all systems permanently analyse the sensor operation. Simple installation and con? gurationBecause of it’s modular construction the SH-WAD and TX-WAD unit can be installed progressively. For example, a JC-Box can be mounted during an early stage of the installation.Confi guring of the WAD units is quite simple. When installing a gas sensor, parameters such as target gas, measurement range and measurement unit are all set automatically. The user only has to specify the alarm values and the desired alarm responses. This can easily be done with the In-control™ confi guration software. A laptop with this software can be connected to the RJ-45 port on the frontside of the unit. Extensive communication possibilitiesThe SH-WAD and TX-WAD units can be used as independent detectors, but can also be part of a larger gas monitoring system. Depending on the selected confi guration, data transfer can take place via a bus line, but also via a 4-20mA signal. The Profi bus-DP module makes it very easy to link the unit to a PLC based alarm system. Such a system off ers a great deal of ? exibility and minimises installation costs. Portable unit for emergency monitoring and temporary area monitoringPerforming maintenance tasks in a production facility often requires the presence of additional gas detection equipment. It is also possible that new or temporary installations have not yet been equipped with fi xed detection systems. In these situations the PSH-WAD provides a solution for your monitoring needs. The portable unit can also be used by emergency response teams to analyse the environment after an evacuation. Integrated alarm handlingIn practice, alarm actions are frequently desired directly at the point of detection. Using the optional relay card, an alarm output can be made available directly inside WAD unit. In many cases this considerably reduces the amount of cabling around the system. The portable PSH-WAD can also be equipped with this relay card to enable a local alarm connection. 123A suction and diffusion type WAD unit linked to a PLC alarm system. Both units are equipped with a JC-Box for communication purposes. Communication is by Profi bus-DP. The PLC provides the alarm output contacts. SIMS-NX software is used to collect and display the data generated by the system. A suction and diffusion type WAD unit equipped with a JC-Box and relay module. The diffusion type unit is shown with a remote sensor adapter for the monitoring of extraction systems. The unit transmits a 4-20 mA signal to an alarm unit 16CWA (or 8CWA). The link to a SIMS-NX PC is optional.Exploded view of the SH-1003-WAD.A1A2ErrorA1A2ErrorA1A2ErrorVarious options for system con? gurationsAdvice, service and supportApart from the performance of the gas detector itself, advice is extremely important for an optimised safety situation. The choices of gas to be detected and the location of the sensors relative to potential source and air? ow are critical areas which aff ect the overall safety of the system. In open dialogue with the customer, the Bionics Instrument account managers have the knowledge to fi nd the best solution for any specifi c application. In the long run, customers are better off with Bionics Instrument gas detectors – and the sound service and support that comes with them.Sensor lifetimeSome gas detector suppliers off er their products at low prices. But the cost of the detector is not that important when performance and cost of ownership are considered. How long will the sensor of a cheap gas detector last? What gases and what range will they, in fact, detect? Most sensors ‘die’ once they have met with overconcentration of gases. Some are even sensitive to the use of IPA clean wipes, as they react to alcohol or other solvents. And what is the price of the sensor that has to be renewed? Bionics Instrument guarantees the lifetime of nearly all sensors and all pumps for fi ve years. In practice, a customer can probably use them (much) longer. During regular maintenance, twice a year, normally only the electrolyte and the membrane have to be replaced. 112210210112,512654,3172,983,612654,3110203,7151,590112210210112,512654,3172,983,612654,3110203,7151,590116256105256Specifications diffusion type unitsProfibus-DP plug-in module ProGas-DP (optional)Mounting Inside SH-WAD, PSH-WAD, TX-WAD or TX-WAD-W unit.Protocol Profibus-DP acc. to DIN 19245 Part 1.
