REGIONAL AQUATICS MONITORING PROGRAM (RAMP) Since 2004 Hatfi eld has implemented and managed RAMP in the Athabasca oil sands region of northern Alberta. RAMP is a multi- disciplinary environmental monitoring program for oil sands companies, government agencies, and Aboriginal groups for oil sands development in the region. We oversee all facets of the technical program, including climate and hydrology, water and sediment quality, benthic invertebrate communities, fi sh populations, acid-sensitive lakes, program communications, and GIS and remote sensing inputs. ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS MONITORING (EEM) Hatfield is a leader in the design and implementation of Federal EEM programs for pulp and paper mills and metal mines, and supports mills in meeting provincial permitting requirements. We developed and managed Federal EEM programs for one pulp mill in Alberta as well as 19 pulp mills in British Columbia and Alberta and three metal mines in British Columbia.
