The sensor is made up of active and an inactive elements. Theinactive and active sensor elements are connected together in a Wheatstone’sbridge circuit to compensate for environmental influences, such as variationsin the ambient temperature. As soon as combustible gases reach the activesensor, combustion of the measurement gas occurs. The heat of this reactionchanges the electrical resistance and thus the bridge signal.
