GA Industries, LLC • 9025 Marshall Road • Cranberry Township, PA 16066-3696P: 724-776-1020 • F: 724-776-1254 • www.gaindustries.comTILTING DISC CHECK VALVES PART 1 GENERAL 1.01  SUBMITTALSA.  Submit detailed product data and descriptive literature including dimensions, weights, headloss data, pressurerating and materials of construction.B.  Provide shop drawings which clearly illustrate the general arrangement of the equipment and cross-sectionalviews of the components. 1.02  QUALITY ASSURANCEA.  Supplier shall have been manufacturing check valves for a period of at least ten (10) years and shall, at therequest of the Engineer, provide a list of installations involving equipment of similar size and application. PART 2 PRODUCTS 2.01  TILTING DISC CHECK VALVEA.  The valve shall be of the tilting disc type consisting of a circular disc with a conical rim, hinged about a fixed pointabove its centerline and offset from the plane of the seat, which seats against a body seat clamped between twovalve body sections.B.  The valve body shall be of cast iron conforming to ASTM A126 Class B with integral flanges faced and drilled inaccordance with ANSI B16.1 Class 125. A port shall be provided in both body sections to provide visual accessupstream and downstream of the disc. Bosses shall be provided on the top and bottom of the valve for theinstallation of hydraulic dashpots.C.  A bronze body seat shall be clamped between the body sections and sealed with a rubber O-ring to preventleakage. The disc shall be solid bronze in sizes to 24” (600mm) and ductile iron with bronze seat and bronzebushings in larger sizes. The disc shall pivot on stainless steel pivot pins. 2.02  FUNCTIONA.  The valve shall swing open smoothly at pump start and close quickly upon pump shutdown to prevent flowreversal. 2.03  MANUFACTURERA.  The valve shall be GA Industries, Inc. Figure 7125-D PART 3 EXECUTION 3.01  InstallationA.  Install valve in accordance with manufacturer's written instructions and approved submittals.
