Formaldehyde and Aldehyde Technical Data Sheet

Technical Data Sheet: TDS 9 DIF700 RTU - FORMALDEHYDE AND ALDEHYDE SCREENING. This tube is designed for actively monitoring Formaldehyde and other Aldehydes in ambient air. Description: Glass tube containing a granular absorbent and glass wool filter. Active pump sampling using preset air pumps. Please note that the diffusion tube is shipped with red plastic caps on both ends. For sampling, remove the red plastic caps and, wearing protective gloves, use pliers to break off the two sealed glass ends of the diffusion tube. Place the end of the tube containing the yellow absorbent into the black pump tubing (see photograph). Replace the red caps after sampling. The tubes are analyzed by HPLC with UV detection (ISO accredited methods). Suitable for carrying out external and indoor ambient air sampling and workplace monitoring for formaldehyde and other aldehydes. Tube Dimensions: 110 mm length x 6mm internal diameter. Maximum Pumped Volume: 15 liters, at flow rate of 0.05 to 1.5 l/min. (Gradko recommends a flow rate of 50ml/min). Storage: Store in a freezer. Shelf life: Use by date on pack. Limit of detection: Formaldehyde – less than 0.02 mgm-3 for a 15 liter pumped volume. Specific values available upon request. Analytical Expanded Measurement Uncertainty: available upon request. Predicted Working Range: 0.02 – 15mgm-3 (approx. 0.02 – 12 ppm). Relevant Standards /Methods: NIOSH 2018: MDHS 78: TO-11A. Special Factors: Ozone can consume the absorbent and degrade the derivative of Formaldehyde and other aldehyde derivatives. Ketones and other aldehydes can react with the absorbent.
