A drawing is available from Trelleborg Pipe Seals on request.Joint without Forsheda 101 seal Seal design and FunctionForsheda 101 is a compression seal which is rolled into place. The Forsheda G-ring is designed primarily for non pressure concrete pipe lines. If the joint is properly designed it can also bes used for pressure pipe li-nes. The compression of the seal varies according to the joint width and tolerance chosen. The teardrop shaped profile provides an effective locking force which prevents the pipes from sliding apart.Seal PerformanceThe Forsheda 101 seal meets all relevant current European standards. Joint performance is depen-dent on dimensional accuracy and surface finish of socket and spigot. Stretch the seal onto the spi-got with the point of the G-ring facing outward, see picture below.Equalize the stress in the seal by lifting it at a few points, see picture below. It is vital that the seal seats evenly all around the pipe, see picture.Centre the pipes and assemble by using suitable tool. The G-ring will now roll over and seat itself in the socket, see picture below.
