Forsheda 103Glipp Sealing SystemGeneral ApplicationForsheda 103 is an integrated seal for low pressure concrete pipes and manholes. The sealing ring is cast in and fixed to the pipe or manhole socket. The sealing system is also used for concrete pipe connections to manholes. Quality Assurance• SS-EN ISO 9001:2000• British Standard ”Kitemark”• CE-markingSeal Design and FunctionDetail 1: The cast in protective strip (made of cellular plastic) acts as part of the system together with the rubber ring. During manufacture, storage, transport and hand-ling the protective strip is left in the pipe socket. The protective strip prevents sand, clay, ice or snow entering the sealing area of the pipe socket. The protective strip is removed in the trench before the pipes are assembled. Detail 2 and 5: The retaining sections are cast into the concrete during pipe manufacture. They fix the sealing ring firmly in the correct position in the socket. Detail 3: The sealing section is a combined lip com-pression seal. Detail 4: The compression section absorbs the load if the lip is fully compressed; it prevents concrete to concrete contact. Pipes and manholes with Forsheda 103 seals should always be installed according to current standards and instructions.Assembly1. Remove the protective strip by pulling the tab of the red retaining tape. The sealing function is unaffec-ted even if some of the cellular plastic remains in the socket. 2 Apply Forsheda 992 Lub to the spi-got before as-sembly. Pay spe-cial attention to the front edge of the spigot. 3. Centre the pipe ends and push the spigot into the socket. As-sembly tools and methods for laying pipes can be advised by the pipe manufacturer. Forsheda Lub withstands rains and frost. It is none toxic, environmentally safe and does not harm the rubber.
