STORAGE AND DISPOSALDo not contaminate water, food, or feed by storage or disposal.Pesticide Storage: Store in a cool, dry place and in such a manner to prevent crosscontamination with other pesticides, fertilizers, food and feed. Store in original container andout of the reach of children, preferably in a locked storage area. Keep container closed whennot in use.Pesticide Disposal: To avoid wastes, use all material in this container by applicationaccording to label directions. If wastes cannot be avoided, offer remaining product to a wastedisposal facility or pesticide disposal program (often such programs are run by state or localgovernments or by industry).Container Disposal: Non-refillable container. Do not reuse or refill this container. Triplerinse container (or equivalent) promptly after emptying. Triple rinse as follows: Empty theremaining contents into application equipment or a tank mix. Fill the container 1/4 full withwater and recap. Shake for 10 seconds. Pour rinsate into application equipment or a mix tankor store rinsate for later use or disposal. This standard contains requirements for the protection of agricultural workers on farms, forests,nurseries, and greenhouses, and handlers of agricultural pesticides. It contains requirements for training,decontamination, notification, and emergency assistance. It also contains specific instructions andexceptions pertaining to the statements on this label about personal protective equipment (PPE),notification to workers, and restricted-entry interval. The requirements in this box apply to uses of thisproduct that are covered by the Worker Protection Standard.Do not enter or allow worker entry into treated areas during the restricted entry interval (REI) of 24 hours.PPE required for early entry to treated areas (that is permitted under the Worker Protection Standard andthat involves contact with anything that has been treated, such as plants, soils, or water), is:• Long-sleeved shirt and long pants• Socks and shoes • Chemical-resistant gloves such as rubber• Protective eyewearGeneral: GALLEX selectively penetrates and kills gall cells, but does not harm healthy bark tissue.Pretreatment Preparation: Make first treatment when rain is unlikely for several days. Remove soil fromaround underground galls by careful digging or by hosing away with compressed water or air. Avoidwounding of plant. Cut off major portion of all galls larger than a baseball and allow to dry 1 or more daysbefore treatment.Application: Shake well before using. DO NOT DILUTEPaint onto gall and cut surfaces plus 1/2 inch of surrounding healthy bark. Achieve thorough coverage byworking GALLEX into cracks and crevices with brush. Allow treated galls below ground level to dry 1 ormore days before replacing soil. Examine after 4 to 6 months and re-treat if live galls are found.Time of Application: Can be used anytime when rain is unlikely for several days. Generally one applicationwill give control. Re-treatment may be necessary.Compatibility: Do not mix or combine GALLEX with other pesticides.Precaution: Complete girdling of the trunk by galls significantly affects the water conducting capacity of thetree. To prevent sudden loss of water movement, do not treat more than half of the galled trunk at any onetime. Treat remaining diseased tissue 4 to 6 months later when examination of initial treatment is made.GALLEX may injure tender plant organs.Do not use fruit, nuts for food or feed purposes.PRECAUTIONARY STATEMENTSHAZARDS TO HUMANS AND DOMESTIC ANIMALSWARNINGHarmful if swallowed. Causes skin irritation. Causes substantial but temporary eye injury. Do not get on skinor on clothing. Wear long sleeved shirt and pants, shoes plus socks, chemical resistant gloves such as rubberand protective eyewear. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking,chewing gum, using tobacco or using the toilet. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before reuse.Prolonged or frequently repeated skin contact may cause allergic reactions in some individuals.PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)Applicators and other handlers must wear:• Long sleeved shirts and pants• Shoes plus socks• Chemical-resistant gloves such as rubber• Protective eyewearFollow manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning and maintaining PPE. If no such instructions for washablesexist, use detergent and hot water. Keep and wash PPE separately from other laundry.ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDSGallex will injure tender foliage, stems and root tissues of most plants. Do not apply directly to water or toareas where surface water is present, or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Do notcontaminate water when disposing of equipment, washwater or rinsate.DIRECTIONS FOR USEIt is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with the labeling. Do not applythis product in a way that will contact workers or other persons, either directly or through drift. Onlyprotected handlers may be in the area during application. For any requirements specific to your State or Tribe,consult the agency responsible for pesticide application. USER SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS• Users should wash hands before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco, or using the toilet.• User should remove clothing / PPE immediately if pesticide gets inside. Then wash thoroughly and puton clean clothing.• User should remove PPE immediately after handling this product. Wash the outside of gloves beforeremoving. As soon as possible, wash thoroughly and change into clean clothing.
