Before operation, gasolinemust be mixed with a good quality synthetic2-cycle air-cooled engine oil designed to bemixed at a ratio of 40:1. Poulan/WEED EATERbrand synthetic oil is recommended. Mix gas-oline and oil at a ratio of 40:1. A 40:1 ratio isobtained by mixing 3.2 fluid ounces (95ml) ofoil with 1 gallon (4 liters) of unleadedgasoline.DO NOT USE automotive oil or boat oil. These oils will cause engine damage. Whenmixing fuel, follow instructions printed oncon-tainer. Once oil is added to gasoline, shakecontainer momentarily to assure that the fuelis thoroughly mixed. This will cause permanent enginedamage and void the limited warranty.FUEL REQUIREMENTSThis engine requires the use of minimum 87octane [R+M]/2 clean gasoline.IMPORTANTUse of alcohol blended fuels (called gasohol orusing ethanol ormethanol) can causemajor en-gine performance and durability problems.WARNING: Alternative fuels (notgasoline) such as E--15 (15% alcohol), E--20(20% alcohol), E--85 (85% alcohol) are NOTclassified as gasoline and are NOT approvedfor use in 2--stroke gasoline engines. Use ofalternative fuels will cause problems such as:improper clutch engagements, overheating, vapor lock, power loss, lubrication deficiency, deterioration of fuel lines, gaskets and internalcarburetor components, etc. Alternative fuelscause high moisture absorption into the fuel/oilmixture leading to oil and fuel separation.TO STOP THE ENGINED To stop the engine, move the throttle leverto the STOP position and hold until en-gine stops running.STARTING YOUR ENGINEWARNING: You MUST make surethe tube is secure before using the unit.D Fuel engine.
