A LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE
INSPIRE CHILDREN TO PURSUE GEOSPATIAL TECHNOLOGIES AND SPACE EXPLORATION
The Geospatial Technology Summer Camp
(GTSC) offers children in grades 7 to 12 a
unique lifetime experience. GTSC introduces
them to computer mapping and space explora-
tion technologies through real world applica-
tions and interactions with their peers from all
over the world in group activities. The program
is designed to expose participants to creativity
and innovation in order to inspire youth towards
higher achievement levels in their academic
and personal lives.
The U.S. Department of Labor identifies geo-
spatial technology, along with biotechnology
and nanotechnology, as the most promising
technology career fields in the USA. Schools,
colleges, and universities all over the USA
have started to adopt geospatial technology in
their academic curricula because they offer a
variety of computer visualization and analyti-
cal tools for both curiosity-driven scientific re-
search and context-driven problem-solving.

them. They experience 1/6th gravity, high G forc-
es, and other simulators like the multi-axis trainer
just as actual astronauts do in the course of their
training. They are briefed about the importance of
the various people in a space mission and their
roles and responsibilities.
