Hcr Sim - Brochure

Hydrocracking is the most flexible process in refining, but also one of the most complex in terms of possible operating strategies. There are a multitude of questions about feeds, conversion (total and per pass), catalyst life and hydrogen requirements. HCR-SIM an excellent tool for enabling refining staff to fine tune this critical operating unit. Unit objectives may be maximum naphtha, kerosene, diesel, or lubes production. HCR-SIM can be used to model all hydrocracking flow configurations, including units with one or two stages of cracking, once-through, partial, or recycle to extinction, and either one or two high pressure gas separators. HCR-SIM is one of KBC’s SIM Suite reactor models, proven in decades of use by refiners worldwide. BENEFITS• Select the most profitable feeds for the hydrocracker, taking into account product yields, hydrogen requirements, and catalyst life.• Determine the optimum total conversion and conversion-per-pass• Determine the best operating strategy to take advantage of operating synergies between the hydrocracker and the FCCU• Accurately monitor catalyst deactivation and determine time to shutdown• Generate a consistent set of yields vectors for different feeds and severities for use in the refinery LP• Train engineers and operators new to hydrocracking by using the model to illustrate cause and effect through simulation runsHCR-SIM™ The KBC SIM Suite Model for HydrocrackingHCR-SIM is a valuable tool to determine the most profitable feeds and time to shutdown, to establish best operating strategy, to monitor catalyst deactivation, and to develop a consistent set of yields vectors.PROCESS SIMULATORS• Petro-SIM™ • Petro-SIM Express™ • Petro-SIM Dynamics™ SIM SUITE SPECIALISED MODELS• AROM-SIM™ for Aromatics• Olefin-SIM™ for Pyrolysis• AMSIM™ for Amine Sweetening AMSIM is a trademark of Schlumberger SIM SUITE REFINERY MODELS • FCC-SIM™ for Fluid Catalytic Cracking • REF-SIM™ for Catalytic Reforming• HCR-SIM™ for Hydrocracking• VIS-SIM™ for Visbreaking and Thermal Cracking • N HTR-SIM™, D HTR-SIM™, VGO HTR-SIM™ for Hydrotreating • RHDS-SIM™ for Residue Hydrotreating• DC-SIM™ for Delayed Coking• ALK-SIM™ for Alkylation• ISOM-SIM™ for IsomerisationENERGY & UTILITIES SOFTWARE• SuperTarget™ for Pinch Analysis• ProSteam™ for Heat and Power Systems• Persimmon™ for Heat Exchanger Fouling Monitoring• KBC CarbonManager™ for Carbon Emissions• WaterTracker™ for Developing and Reconciling Water Balances• WaterPinch™ for Optimising Water NetworksWEB-BASED DATA DISPLAY SOFTWARE• Babelfish™ for Web-Based Real-Time Display from ISS Babelfish is a trademark of the ISS Group For more information, please visit our website or contact us: www.kbcat.com • answers@kbcat.com KBC Software • Capturing knowledge with process simulation• Improving profits with model-based optimisation• Minimising process and utility costs through simulation• Continuously improving operations through unit monitoring• Generating more accurate and cost-effective designs• Maximising control and safety with dynamic flowsheeting AMERICAS +1 281 293 8200 • EMEA +44 1932 242424 • ASIA +65 6735 5488FEATURES• A detailed simulation of the reactor section, including the hydrotreater and hydrocracking reactors by bed, as well as quenches, downstream flashes, and all recycle gas loops• A rigorous kinetic representation of all key reactions – Hydrodesulphurisation (HDS), Hydrodenitrogenation (HDN), Hydrodemetallisation (HDM), olefin saturation in the hydrotreater, and cracking and ring-opening in the hydrocracker(s)• Detailed heat balances to allow the calculation of bed temperature rises and resulting quench requirements• Accurate modelling of catalyst deactivation based on catalyst temperature, hydrogen partial pressure, and feedstock qualities• Detailed feed pseudo-component characterisation by paraffin, aromatic, and naphthene content and carbon number• A built-in optimiser allows you to identify the most profitable operation given feed/product pricing, catalyst costs, and unit constraintsINTERFACE OPTIONSHCR-SIM is available with a Microsoft Excel® based spreadsheet interface for quick setup, ease-of-use, and the ability to process multiple calibration and prediction cases for analysis. Multiple chart options allow easy analysis of data and model predictions, and concise summary sheets provide relevant data at a glance. Excel interfaces are automatically generated and can be customised to your specific needs. HCR-SIM can also be used directly within a graphical user interface, with the same user-friendly look and feel as our Petro-SIM family of process simulators. Make configuration changes using drag-and-drop on a process flowsheet diagram, compare plant data with results in a meter view, and perform case studies and optimisations all within a single environment.HCR-SIM AND PETRO-SIM HCR-SIM is also available within Petro-SIM and Petro-SIM Express. Take advantage of sophisticated analysis tools, such as the popular LP Utility for easy generation and maintenance of LP submodels. Generate detailed models using downstream separation and auxiliary units, link with assay and feed libraries and crude units to investigate feedstock effects, or use HCR-SIM as part of a complete refinery, at a level of detail unsurpassed by any other process simulation package.® Excel is a registered trademark of Microsoft Corporation
