Dialysate is comprised of up to 99% of water, specifi cally of purifi ed water. To generate purifi ed water from the mains water supply, a water softening unit first exchanges the calcium and magnesium ions, known as hardness ions, for an equivalent amount of sodium ions. The downstream reverse osmosis unit removes all salts and other content from the water to create purifi ed water known as permeate.

And thanks to continuous circulation, the system does not contain any stagnant water, ensuring maximum hygienic safety. The sequential arrangement of several thin-fi lm spiral membrane modules with tangential fl ow prevents surface deposits, improves the quality of the purified water and extends the service life of the modules.
