The Model 3680 is a great companion
for composting and landfill sites.
Municipal yard waste and tree waste
such as trimmings, storm damage,

productive, the Model 3680 will
maximize the efficiency of any operation.
The 700-hp Beast above is shown

hardwood. It produced approximately
35 tons in 40 minutes, with little to no

hardwood, production exceeded 75
tons per hour. The optional thrower
aids in loading end-opening trailers.
A relatively new application for our
Beast Recyclers with Knife System is
the production of a sawdust-like product
for pellet manufacturing. By running
whole trees through a debarker prior
to grinding, a miniscule chip product,
similar to sawdust, is produced.

From Pallets to Pellets...
An operation in England is producing wood
pellets from wood pallets In many applications,
material from a Beast® Recycler is preferred over
that from a traditional grinder. In fact, one pellet
mill with whom we spoke reported a 10% to 12%
increase in production from their mill, simply
by using material from a Beast® Recycler. The
size, shape, and uniformity can not be matched.

FROM ROOF
TO ROAD.
Shingle recycling has never been easier than with the Beast.
Recent data suggests that nearly 11 million tons of asphalt roo? ng
shingle wastes are produced in the United States each year.
Recycling shingles can recapture the equivalent of 2 barrels of
oil from every ton of shingles recycled. Asphalt roo? ng shingles
can easily be removed from the waste stream and reconstituted
as a hot-mix asphalt supplement, with a little help from Bandit’s
Beast® Recyclers. Our Shingle Grinding Package allows you to
process shingle waste year-round with minimal downtime.

BENEFITS OF CHIPPING
SCREENED PRODUCT.
Unlike many whole tree chippers, the Beast® is
designed to be operated with a screening system
APPLICATIONS:
The Knife System was developed
as a modi? cation to Beast®
Recyclers that would enable
it to produce large quantities
of screened chips for the
European fuel wood markets.
Since its inception, applications
have grown to include:
• WOOD CHIPS FOR FUEL MARKETS
• PLAYGROUND MULCH
• ANIMAL BEDDING
• SAWDUST FOR PELLET PLANTS
MAXIMIZE PELLET OUTPUT:
There are many Beast® Recyclers
are in operation that provide a
screened chip for use in pellet
operations, especially in Western
Canada. The pellet mills
receiving the product report a
10-12% increase in production
when using the material from
the Beast as opposed to material
from other grinders, due to the
uniformity of size of the chip.
Traditionally, these chips must ? rst
be passed through a hammermill
before being processed into pellets.
NEW & NOTEWORTHY:
The slumping housing market
has led to a high demand for
sawdust with the pellet industry.
A new application using a Model
3680 Beast® with Knife System
behind a Forest Pro debarker is
now producing a sawdust-like
product in a single pass that is
fed directly into pellet mills with
no further grinding necessary.

Many pellet mills utilizing chips from a
Beast® Recycler as opposed to chips
from other chippers and grinders
are experiencing 10 - 12% greater

Beast vs. Chipper:Beast vs. Chipper:
Which is right for you?
A Bandit Beast® Recycler works a lot like a whole tree chipper –
especially when equipped with our patent-pending Chipper Knife Set-
up. But unlike a whole tree chipper, our Beast® Recyclers have a greater
diameter capacity and substantially larger opening for processing
limby material. The Beast® will tolerate stones and dirt, unlike a whole
tree chipper. A Beast® is better equipped to process stumps and land
clearing debris, and offers the versatility of being able to change out
the cutting tools and screens to produce a speci? c-size end product.

Nobody does it better.
A recent study with a Maryland composting yard found that since switching
from an enclosed tub grinder to a Beast® Recycler, they’ve reduced
their fuel cost per cubic yard from 11¢ with the tub grinder to 9¢ with
the Beast; they’ve seen an increase in volume; and have increased their
production from 252 yards per hour with the tub to 430 yards per hour
with the Beast – all of which have led to extensive annual cost savings.
“Since we began grinding with the Beast, we’ve experienced a
60% increase in volume, simply because we can process everything.
With a tub grinder, there are a lot of things you simply can’t
grind that you have to pay to have hauled away. [The Beast
has] paid for itself already, which is pretty impressive.”
– N.K., Maryland
• Adding tracks to your Beast® allows you to
maneuver compost windrows with ease
• Beast® Recyclers can process a wider
variety of materials than a tub grinder
• You will experience greater fuel efficiency with
a Beast® compared to conventional grinders

Color Critter II
Mulch coloring made easy with your
Beast Recycler.
INSTALLATION IS SIMPLE.
It takes about four hours to initially wire the
colorizer’s control panel to the Beast. Once
this initial wiring is complete, ? nal installation
takes about 15 minutes.
POWER REQUIREMENTS:
110 VOLT CURRENT.
A generator is often used to supply power
to the Color Critter II and to the water pump
when operating in a remote location.
HIGH PRODUCTION.
A 500-hp Beast can color as much as 200
cubic yards/hour in the ? nal grind, depending
on the desired product size. Colorant costs
are usually under $3.00/cubic yard of
? nished product for most applications.
FINAL GRIND COLORATION.
The granular colorant eliminates much of
the mess associated with liquid and powder
colorants. Liquid coloration system available.
Wood made good with color
The Color Critter II uses a dry, granular coloring pigment with a
precise, electronically-controlled metering system that operates off
the Beast’s electronic controls. This ensures the right amount of water
and pigment ? ow. The coloring system straddles the infeed conveyor
and bolts to the infeed conveyor’s support posts. The colorant hopper
slides down into guide posts located on the Beast’s main frame.
Five discharge ports evenly spread colorant over the material.
The quantity of colorant being discharged is easily adjusted by simply
turning a knob that opens and closes the ports. The rate at which
the colorant is discharged is controlled by the speed of the infeed
conveyor. If the feed system stops, so does the ? ow of colorant.
The colorant hopper holds in excess of 2,000 lbs. of granules. Multiple
hoppers are recommended to quickly switch from one color to
another, limiting downtime due to re? lling the hopper. Colored mulch
exits the machine nearly dry and can be bagged shortly thereafter.
Oxidizing pigments penetrate the material to provide
a rich, long lasting color that
resists fading, allowing you to
color earlier in the season.
